Are you seeing new ones since you made the changes, or old ones from before? The old ones will stay, but you shouldn't get any new ones. Unticking all those boxes was one of the first things I did last night and I'm only receiving the alerts I want (very similar to what you want).
I don't know - it seems quite a reasonable idea though. I had to go out just after posting, but I'll keep an eye on it this evening. Hope you're right - thanks.

Update: having been back on NSC for a while, yes, it has worked as you said. Cheers.

I always used the discussion tab on Tapatalk and it ordered threads by the latest post and took me to the last post on each thread. That doesn’t seem to be an option here.

I’m also having to login every time I access the site.

I must say I much preferred Tapatalk but realise I am in the minority.

You seen the big 'New Posts' button on the forum menu? Hit that and 'latest activity' ?

There was an issue some of us had with some changes while still under vbulletin that led to us needing to sign in each time, and that came from the fact we were usuing a bookmark that was http:// - chanigng it to https:// solved it. (either edit the bookmark, or create a new one after signing in).

I’ve checked and it already is https. Logs me out every time I leave.

It’s these sort of constructive posts that make the whole thing worthwhile.

Thanks for your considered opinion.

Not sure if it's been asked, but is the "green thumb" just for gardening threads? Or for Caroline Lucas threads? If so, how come the Tories get a "blue thumb", but there's no red or yellow?

Firstly, it clearly isn’t horrendous by any measure.

Secondly, if you’d taken time to read anything I’ve written, particularly the FAQ at the top of the board, you’ll know I’ve not spent a single second on the look and feel of the site. That will come in due course.

As such, how it looks right now is completely irrelevant. It will change for the better, although not everyone will like it, as pleasing 25,000 people at the same time is all but an impossibility.

In the meantime we have a far more powerful, flexible and secure forum platform on which to build.

Walking in and saying, essentially, “this is shit” is a pretty poor way to go about things IMO.
