Who on here is/was in a band (apart from school/scouts/guides) and who can play an instrument or sings? How good do you reckon you are?

Late night drunken bongo playing annoying some pretty good acoustic guitarists and decent singers is about as far as I got sadly :annoyed:

PC guitar heroes need not apply!!

Was a crap drummer at high school but was a singer at university. Started busking then formed a band with fellow busker. Did about gigs in pubs in York three and hired a studio for a day to record three songs...... then artistic differences broke us up. He could sing and play the guitar. I couldn't play the guitar and could growl. It was inevitable :(

Performed at the Millennium Dome, Albert Hall, and various local venues (Gardner Arts Centre, places like that) as well as Place D'Armes in Luxembourg and Valkenburg. Passed grade eight about 8 or 9 years ago and am qualified to teach to grade five level. Also play the piano, guitar and clarinet to differing standards. Also played with Pete Long, who is/was the saxophonist for Jools Holland.

Bad electric guitarist - had to sub in to my cousins band a few times when their lead guitarist was sick.

Forced by parents to do piano as a kid - have the third level up cert IIRC, it was a long time ago.

I used to make a living as a DJ, too. Everything from the horrors of birthday parties up to mid-sized clubs back home. However I doubt most people on here see that as being a 'musician', anyway.

How soon is now?
Drummer - still playing in a couple of local bands. Played the Albert Hall in 04, with Pete Townsend, Paul Weller, Ronnie Wood - to name but a few. Still do a lot of scooter rallies, mod based conventions and gigs as and where.... Just putting a soul/functions band together with some cracking musicians - looking for a singer and will be adding a brass section. Any interested parties can PM me.
