Interesting point as to whether step children count or not. I suppose it depends on how old they were when you took them on and whether they still see their other parent. Also, how about adopted kids ? Our two eldest are technically my stepchildren but they've only ever really known me as their Dad and I just regard them as my own in the same way as I do our other two kids who are biologically mine.
