Incidentally, I know it's all hindsight but I was shocked anyone at all backed Cracksman at that price.

He started at around 4/6 and came in, and all this for a horse that really struggled to get the job done at Epsom last month.

Oh well, you won this competition in the national hunt season so who am I to argue? [emoji38]

He started at around 4/6 and came in, and all this for a horse that really struggled to get the job done at Epsom last month.

The connections and pundits all said that Cracksman couldn't handle the Epsom track. Plus - and nobody seemed to mention this - the going that day looked to be distinctly on the soft side. Just thought that without either of those negatives yesterday, the horse would have romped home. Judging by the SP, many others thought likewise. Oh well, win some, lose some.
