Gotta say, wasn't impressed with that jockey, never put his horses in the race til far too late. Oh well, it passed a dark and dismal morning before the proper racing started

Thing is they closed courses at Clarewood and Arlington and as well as investing in Turfontien and kenilworth theyve also built all weather tracks at Greyville and Fairview. The latter in my opinion has always been a pit and they should have shut it and kept Clairwood. But its were the punters are if not the top trainers/owners.

They have a Pick 6 out there, a bit like the scoop 6 here but its everyday and played like the lotto is here so there a lot of money going into SA racing relative to its size. But it still lacks strength in depth and that includes jockies, courses owners and horses.

Take your point mate. Cos we're used to jockeys over here who have great technique, expensively gained, its easy to judge other countries by our own standards.Easy to look at them and come to the false conclusion that they're pulling horses, whereas much of it may well just be down to lack of technique. Unlike our homegrown dodgy geezers and geezer birds like F***** and T*****. Only current UK jockeys I won't ever back cos they have so much bad 'luck in running' it's unbelievable. Literally..
