Woodies Diner along Portslade seafront does a quality fry-up. Did my best mans duties and took the GROOM along there in the summer on the morning of his wedding, set us up a TREAT that did (prior to a splendid round of golf, perfect start to the day). Shame the waitresses wern't as dirty as the forks though.

A Crack House
Market Diner used to be a world beater in the 70's and 80's but haven't been for years. I recall having big mugs of tea jammed into my hand as we queued to get in at 4am.

Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells used to do a simple but classic breakfast. But has changed hands and the ingredients (and sexy staff in starched aprons) have gone down hill. I've been told that The Dorchester in Park Lane is brilliant too - and I'm planning to go in the New Year.

However this and the HdeV may not count if the fry-up has to be in a caff to qualify.

Big daddy's Van in a lay-by north of Crowborough used to do a diet defeating "bacon and egg sarnie" which became well known in the area - but i think Big daddy died (result of his "serve one, eat one" policy?) and it's changed ownership.

I am pleased to report that Big Daddy did not die. He just retired and moved to Seaford.

Couple of shouts for the Kitchen Café in Trafalgar Street and Macs Café in Arundel Road. Even the Dumb Waiter still does a decent bit of fried nosh. But...

AVOID THE MARKET DINER. Forever.

That will be the one for me! Especially now I know you dont go there!:whisky:

Having decided that NSC's perfect breakfast consists of bacon, sausages, mushrooms, fried eggs, baked beans and hash browns, we can be absolutely certain of one thing ... and that is that most hotels will succeed in ruining every single item on that list.

Unlike the place half way up Elm Grove that knows how to serve an excellent breakfast.

I know that the best fry ups are probably to be had a classic "greasy spoon" but I would like to state the case for the excellence of a Morrisons "all day breakfast" (With scrambled instead of fried egg) as consumed at the cafe in their store in Crowborough (and elsewhere I assume).

BHS used to do a decent fry up as well - went there on many occasions before work when I worked in Tunbridge Wells.

The Chalet cafe just outside Cowfold

Have to agree - I used to regularly drive 20 miles out of my way to work to meet up with a few mates at the Chalet because the food was so good.

truffles, burgess hill

£3.50 and the waitress' are FIT

TRUFFLES are tops at EVERYTHING! Brilliant cakes and stuff. Sometimes expensive, but oh SO much better than forfars.

My favoured establishment is Goldings Barn 'Cromwells' in Small Dole.
Clean, loaded with all the right ingredients, and decent coffee in a big cup 'n saucer.
It's a converted barn, and the view looks out on the Adur valley.

I think that Truffles is awful in comparison to both the main cafe in the martletts near the butchers and the stalls, and now Lynnes who used to own it but has now reopened the small one opposite Iceland.

If on the road I stop at Robbos on the A23. When I had a pub in B Hill 4 of us used to go to different cafes for breakfast every day and was disappointed with the standard of The Chalet. We all agreed Robbos was the best VFM.

Linda's on the seafront between Hove and Porstlade is ok.

You are such a twat. I tell you that the Market Diner's breakfasts are the worst on the planet, so that's where you want to go for one. You don't actually stop and think about anything, do you?

f*** me, what a retarded tosser.

Oh yes cause your opinion is always correct. Like most people on here I think you talk out of your arse, so if you say it is shite it probably isn't. Oh yeah and I can make my own mind up unlike you and your internet chums!

So do one Retard.

Can't remember the quality of Truffles. However, before Lynne's took over that cafe, i was loving the Breakfast Bap they had (was it called the filling station?).
