Just returned from Stanmer Park where traveller youngsters about 14 years old where driving a van like lunatics through the woods, had to grab my dog who's deaf to avoid him being run over, as they went pass they shouted "get out of the way you f*****g c**t.Got back to the car park where people were relating their stories.Women dog walkers were abused a dog was hit though thankfully not badly hurt and Ted who rides a mobility scooter had to take avoiding action.Had a similar incident a few months back with quad bikes, hope in the future their isn't a serious incident.

A nice park ruined by travellers again and again, you were minding your own business and you got shouted at like that, and some people defend this type of scum.
I have seen a traveller driving across the grass in that park not far from the road, Yeh why use the road when you can drive along the grass:annoyed:

I see they were back again today in Withdean/Surrenden Park and Preston Park. That will ruin the weekend for a lot of law abiding Brighton citizens hoping to enjoy the parks this weekend. What a shame the Greens encouraged them to come here.

And now in Preston Park and Surrenden Field.

However the good news is that, according to the Argus, "The council said it had carried out a community impact assessment and was “seeking possession of the land”". That's OK then.

Typical beaurocratic claptrap nonsense. Whoever on the council staff carried out said "community impact statement" could have copied the statement from the previous occupation of parkland by "travellers", and the one before that, and the one before that. So that is what the taxpayers of Brighton are paying for ... clipboard beaurocrats carrying out "community impact statements". Wow!

Surely the parks in Brighton and Hove can be better protected from these people by building earth banks around them to make them inaccessible by vans towing caravans.. Yes, I know access is needed for grass cutting equipment, but this could be via an entrance accessible by tractors only.

Why don't the council employ a security firm equipped with large tractors to patrol the parks on a 24hr basis during the months the "travellers" are in the Brighton area. When an "invasion" is imminent park an enormous tractor across the park entrance. Easy. Yes, there would be a cost, but it would surely be less than the current cost of the clean ups.

How big would this tractor be to prevent them getting onto PP?
