Mid-table.

Plunging early on, McGhee sacked with us bottom of the league, new manager takes time to turn it round, end up finishing strongly, full of promise for the following season.

A poor season in prospect, but we've had plenty of those in the past. Not relegated, but never threatening and all against a backdrop of lowering attendances, glowering supporters, and increasing angst and anger about Falmer.

And the silver lining is.....one for the future.

That's why it will be a transitional season. If we were able to bring in 3 or 4 old heads, I think we would make the play-offs for sure. But unless we do that, we will have to wait for that until the following seasons until the youngsters mature.

But they don't mature paddy because if they show signs of promise they are sold on before we see the best of them

I'm all in favour of giving youth a chance but you can't ask boys to do a man's job. We need to bring in a few seasoned pro's to turn the club around & give the kids good pro's to look up to & learn from. At some point the club are going to have to take a gamble and commit money to a few quality signings before the downward spiral goes to far.

I think you'll find the board and manager in agreement on that point. Unfortunately nobody wants to come here. If we are to do any better than mid-table mediocrity (which after the MK result I'd probably settle for) then we will have to recruit some new faces.

However thanks to the wonderful folk at LDC they club has just gone backwards by about two years with regards to falmer.

It's going to be a tough season, on and off the pitch.

Another wasted pre season - for the second season running there was free transfers out there that would have made a big differnce to the squad but yet AGAIN the club fail to act early enough and they all get signed up.

Yes, and then we start again - what's the problem? We are a selling club because this stops us joining the likes of Crawley in being run by an administrator.
