Notts County was Mcghee's first input...

According to Mcghee, Coppell called him when he got the job to say good luck and also that we were in a false position in the league, we'd played against crap teams and managed to get a few results.

He also said, since he's been here, he spent the first few weeks just watching what was going on, assessing players etc. He said Notts County was the first game that he had had any input into. This may be him just distancing himself from the Bristol City game but, if true, I think we can all look forward to Number 3 in 4 years...

I doubt it very much . . . . .what exactly did we do on Saturday ? narrowly beat one of the worst sides in the division . . .hardly a season highlight !

Our season was summed up for me at Brentford when their fans sang "You're top and we don't know why"

This is the same Brentford team who got trounced at home by Grimsby last w/e.

If McGhee can pull off another championship or promotion I hope we give him a bit more credit than Peter Taylor got.

RM . . .no I didnt, so admittedly it was a bit of an off the cuff comment, but i can tbelieve we've improved that much over the rest of the performances this season which have been poor to say the least

They'll be like a different side on Sat, I guarantee.

Why would my season ticket be going spare? We've been shit to watch for most of this season, if you disagree perhaps you'll lend me you rose coloured glasses?

Does thinking we were lucky to go top mean I have to give up my season ticket :(

If he really said that, then he's an even bigger nob than I was thinking he was.

At one point, we had played 7 or 8 of the top ten; they may have all been crap, but clearly they had been getting results against the rest of the division, but we had been getting results against them.

Definitely said it coz I've seen this quoted in the press by Mcghee as well

I wouldn't put a comment like this past Mcghee, he does seem to fancy himself a bit (no offence). A wolves supporting mate of mine reckoned that Mcghee believes he is the next Fergie and loves the sound of his own voice.

some people just want to damn McGhee for everything.

Even Coppell didn't get this much stick, despite the fact that (1) he had long lasting Palace connections (2) we let in 9 goals in his first 2 games and (3) we produced one of the most incompetent and spineless capitulations ever seen from Albion players against Palace in his second game.

Give McGhee a chance, please stop looking for faults in everything he does! If he wants to blame Coppell, let him, I don't mind and it might concentrate the players' minds a bit better.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was his first input. The shape of the team was completely different and the team put out was one that seemed to know where they were meant to be most of the time. Mayo wasn't getting forward as much as he used to and looked pretty solid again.

Let's just hope it's the start of something special this year.
