they have the worst stewards that I have ever encountered anywhere. The bloke who is in charge of the stewarding up there is a complete and utter twat. Looks like he'll have to spend next season telling small groups of fans from places like Chesterfield and Colchester to sit down. And good enough for him.

Completely agree with that. They were wankers when we went there this season.

Anyway, bollocks to Forest.

Agreed!

And at this stage of the season my sentiments are bollocks to every other team-The Albion are the only ones I'm concerned with. Forest can f*** off with all of their self-pity...

Forest going down might just be the kick in the pants that the club need to realise exactly what has happened to them.

It happened to Man City and look where they are now.

We've needed to care about Forest for a while from a results point of view, but yeah I couldn't give a toss about their plight. Yet another example of poor managerial appointments and financial mismanagement.

The crumb of comfort is that they are still a darn sight more f*cked than we are at the moment, and given the circumstances, we've got absolutely no reason to feel any sympathy at all, other than to maybe the fans.

Another example of how the few very wealthy sides are leeching money out of the game.
:nono:

Why is forest going down an example of that ? surely they were a big club in top tier of english football generating money ,but spunked it all away on mis management and poor transfer buys .Only themselves to blame

Megson is a good manager and should be able to turn things around in time.

If I was Megson I'd be reminding his players of the woeful form of Watford, Crewe and ourselves - none of us can buy a win at the moment.

Personally, I've got a lot of time for Forest. They won 2 European Cups and flew the flag for this country in Europe with pride, they've generally played attacking football and had some great players.

Plus Nottingham is a FINE city for an away trip, and the City Ground is a top notch good old fashioned ground which has kept it's character even after going all seater.

I have a soft spot for Forest as a club even though I don't really mind if they go down (it's either them or us!). When I was at University up there, I had a mate who was in digs just behind the away end in the days when it was all terracing. We used to watch the games from his bedroom window (although you couldn't see the penalty area at our end because of the crowd).

A dog burger from the stand outside, occasionally a programme, and then off upstairs to watch the game. Marvellous scenes.

agree 100%. Love Nottingham as a city. Always had a soft spot for Forest (provavlt wholly due to Cloughie) and a few other sleeping (or dead) giants such as Man City, Sunderland and Huddersfield Town.

... in addition IMHO you can't judge a club by its stewards else we'd have to also say heave ho to Crewe, Sheff Wednesday, Carlisle, Luton ... and God knows how many other clubs where we have had bad experiences

But you are all dead right ... it is our own club we have to worry about and support right now

I had the DELIGHT of living in Nottingham for two years, it's the only place that's come close to the atmosphere that Brighton has. There's loasd of little bars tucked away and loads to explore.

One crumb of comfort from going down would be a day of drinking in Nottingham, lets hope we don't get sent to Forest on a f***ing Tuesday night again though.

Far too wrapped up in our own crisis to give a toss about any other team to be honest. No-one is too big to go down, past glories mean nothing. Forest are shit and deserve to be where there are in the table.

Exactamondo.

What's that superb bar tucked into the Castle walls ... Road to Jerusalem or something? (named after the crusades)

... and they have never been a "we are a Big club look at us" type either ... very sad

I don't know. I went to the away game at Forest earlier in the season, and there was an element of that in the phone-in to local radio after the game.

Also, before the game, I got there early - first visit to the place - and I was wandering around the ground, taking in the splendour of the place. A ground that conjurs up many memories of my childhood and the time I first fell in love with football. Anyway, I was stood on the bridge over the Trent, and took a couple of pictures of the ground from there, a magnificent view. A couple of Forest fans wandered by,

"Never seen a real ground before mate."
"Well, we play at Withdean, so all grounds are quite impressive in comparison" I joked.
"Yeah, that's a shit hole innit. Shouldn't really be in the same division as us really... ha ha ha " as they walked on.

They didn't use the words, but I certainly felt like they had whacked me over the head saying "We are a big club you know laddy."

With a bit of luck, we won't!

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, if you stay in there long enough you get sandstone in your pint that falls from the ceiling. Also a fishmonger comes round every few hours with a tray of cockles and stuff. It's well good until some tour guide comes in showing a load of yanks the oldest pub in the country.

Exactly, but that wasn't quite how they meant it.
The phone-in was full of "If we can't beat (little) teams like Brighton ...."
