We're having to put players in when they're not quite ready because of other injuries.........stuck in some kind of horrid vicious circle at the moment. Can't see an end to it any time soon.

Reluctance to sign any FBs in the summer will bite massively in Jan. We have to buy 2 now, and clubs will exploit that.

The fact that we are competing at all with these injuries is frankly amazing. I think we have to be realistic about our aims this season. And don't forget Dunk is nursing an injury, Lallana and Milner are playing on one leg and Veltman struggles to play twice a week.

What I would say about all these injuries is that Lamptey, Welbeck, Webster and Lallana are always injury prone so we’re always a risk.

We just need to limp to January and next summer be more ruthless about saying to players you aren’t going on loan. Undav, Moran and Sarmiento would all be very useful right now.
