The problem with JFC is that when we had poor runs under Gus there were plenty on here calling for him to get game time, as if he would be the saviour who would turn our team around, like he would be better than the established players we had in the team.
Now he is getting match time he is being shown to be a ordinary footballer.
Some of those who had high hopes resent his failure to live up to their hype so are extra critical, some of those who were fed up with the hype are now eager to enjoy his faults because the hype was quite irritating. They are mainly the ones constantly criticising him.
They are joined by some people who criticise him when they feel it is justified.
There are also those who had high hopes before who still feel he can live up to their hype if the circumstances are right, if he is played in certain positions in certain systems, who will blindly defend him, and they are joined by people who defend him when they feel the criticism is unfair.
I don't believe he can live up to some of the hype he initially received, at least not with us. Maybe moving out of his comfort zone and moving away might give him the chance to improve a bit more.
But I don't believe he is always worthy of the criticism that he gets.
Having said that, his set pieces are almost always awful.
