In my eyes, any other event which had the amount of life-threatening attacks or attacks on emergency service workers that NHC does would be immediately canned. I cannot believe the support it gets from politicians etc.

If a football team had a match where emergency service workers were attacked and some fans got stabbed the next games would be behind closed doors and there'd be complete outrage
It’s ok, I’m sure that ‘Two-Tier Keir’ will shortly be announcing that anyone found guilty of public disorder offences at the carnival will feel the full force of the law and can look forward to lengthy jail sentences.

OTOH, possibly not.

Statistically safer than an England game at Wembley.

That may be ‘statistically’ true, but it’s presumably because the police actually do their job at major sporting events, unlike at the carnival where they have to use a hands-off approach to anything but serious crime.

It does make me laugh though all the lefty loveys on this board ...talking about embracing any other culture than white British .....when in reality there is absolutely no way they would live in anything other than a white middle class area.

Personally I love living in areas that have a cultural breadth.
I’m sure most members of this forum that come from Sussex would choose to stay here rather than live in London.
I would imagine most people that move to live in London from Sussex is because it’s nearer their work place.

London is soooo much better than anywhere in Sussex. No disrespect like.

If you live in Sussex you're too poor to live in a decent area in London.

Otherwise why would the super rich live in London over Brighton or hove ;)

Halfway through this year, the VERY best of Britain. No wonder Londoners absolutely adore Notting Hill Carnival. Mrs Crod and I are having a digital Notting Hill this year.

:O
Heard that the initial complaints about the Ship showing the bbc coverage rather than Super Sunday were quickly forgetton when the free Caribbean buffet was uncovered across tables 4-12

I lived in this area for 15 years and loved living there. But yer it was annoying when carnival was on.

I'm card-carrying Tofu-eating Wokerati and live in a very multicultural area with 70% unemployment.

Is that just seasonal unemployment? There must be plenty of agricultural work going in Almeria I’d have thought. Almeria itself always strikes me as quite a well-to-do town with its stately La Rambla. No disrespect but perhaps you live in a grottier bit of the town.

I think you might be the first person to describe Almería as "well-to-do" :lolol:

It's the poorest capital of the poorest province of the (2nd) poorest region in Spain. I do indeed live in one of the poorer neighbourhoods of the city.

The lack of jobs is not seasonal. Many parts of Andalucía have suffered from high rates of unemployment since the 2008 crisis. There is a lot of agricultural work but it's year-round thanks to the greenhouses.

I had a look on Google Earth to look at where you live……looks very tidy compared to parts of Newhaven

I love the ‘who replied’ feature on NSC. It tells me, for instance, that you didn’t post once on the riots thread to condemn that behaviour.

Maybe someone else is two tier.

Ermmm guessing you missed the Euros 2020 problems in London for the semis and finals. And we’ve just been awarded the tournament for 2028, with a final at Wembley!
