I'm really impressed by the way the French have dealt with this. Right from the beginning. And perhaps Macron could get some credit? We'd still be arguing about who pays for the rebuild, and planning permission and listed building consent and the health and safety plan.

It'll take longer for BHCC to get the hotel on the seafront rebuilt. To be fair that will probably be down to the dodgy landowners.

$1bn donations poured in within a year, much from the US …. their wealthy philanthropist thing.

Went a couple of months before the fire, will be interesting to go post restoration to see how it compares with the original photos we took
