Let's hope it's a wind up.

Of course it is, why would a Sheffield United supporter be the first to advise us of one of our players being transferred to Norwich.? Do you not think Norwich fans would be on here like a shot?

This is what happens when you're hoping someone like Gus Poyet will get the manager's job at your club, and instead you get Micky Adams. Yep, good luck with that, Blades.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

Nah. If some yorkshire pigeon fancier has nowt better to do than be on a BHA forum then things must be worse in sheffield than I had thought, so I think we should help him out and leave him be. I have to ask tho why he is bothered about Brighton.. oh maybe he wants to join our famous community in Kemp Town. If so then why doesnt he say so, come out and come on down.

Smoke without fire at the moment so BHA can just keep turning bids down. he's just signed a 3 1/2 year deal so if we are going to sell him, get a PROPER FEE for him

from the argus

Albion are bracing themselves for an improved offer from Norwich for Elliott Bennett.

The Seagulls are trying to fend off interest in their chief goal provider from the Championship promotion-chasers.

The Argus understands they have already rejected a bid by Norwich for Bennett, who was signed from Wolves for £200,000 in August 2009.

Managing director Ken Brown confirmed: “There has been interest. It wasn’t sought, it isn’t welcome and it has been declined.”

Bennett, on target in Saturday’s 3-1 home win against Peterborough, was awarded a new three-and-a-half year contract in November but boss Gus Poyet faces a fight to keep the 22-year-old.

Poyet admitted: “It’s very easy from the point of view of the manager and the club to say stay here and that’s it. In football you never know where it is going to go.”

Asked if every player has his price, Poyet said: “That is what everybody says and you don’t have to hide it. This is the situation and you have to accept it but, at the moment, we are trying to fight it.

“We saw how important he is. That is why people want him. And when you play well and you are top of the league and when you have got players who enjoy playing football we are going to get attention from everyone. Even Man United lost Ronaldo, so that’s football. Sometimes it is not in your hands. At the moment it is.
“Sometimes you need to realise as well we need to know his opinion. We are trying to keep him as concentrated as possible but, as you can imagine, it’s complicated.”

On-loan West Brom striker Chris Wood scored the other two goals as Albion stretched their lead at the top of League One to four points.

They have a game or more in hand of the teams immediately below them as well, including Saturday’s fourth-placed hosts Bournemouth.

The Seagulls are hoping Craig Noone will be fit after the £300,000 winger from Plymouth was substituted less than an hour into his home debut.

Poyet said: “He had a bit of a knock at the top of the glute (thigh), so we need to address that.”
