Taylor Richards going to QPR on loan with a move to make it permanent.

Seems a bit quick to be moving him on - one good season in League1, an injury ravaged unsuccessful loan at Birmingham - and now off (more or less). Considering we paid quite a bit (allegedly) for him from Manchester City that seems a bit disappointing. Oh well, they can't all make it to our first team and beyond.

Good luck to the lad anyway. QPR have f*** all money (again allegedly) so maybe this is one we'll have to take a loss on our reported £2.5M investment.

Not really - if Moder, AleMac, Bissouma, Caciedo are ‘the level’ - then Richards is miles off those levels

Well, considering that Moder, AleMac, Bissouma and Caciedo have played 223 PL matches for the Albion between them, that's an unbelievably harsh and unrealistic comparison!

Granted that the management and the people actually running the development squad and know a lot more about his levels and potential than you or I do, but bearing in mind the exectations when he came in, and when he went out on loan, his departure for what isn't going to be a huge fee to QPR is something of a disappointment.

Mac, Caciedo, Moder were all the same age or younger as Richards when they started playing for us in the PL, Bissouma admittedly took a year or so to really start regularly. Will be interesting to see how he does and still championship is a fabulous level to play at

......and Richards is younger than Ben White when he went to Leeds! It will be interesting to see how he does, but the fact that we're willing to let him go at the end of it does take the edge off it a bit, fr me anyway. QPR don't have much money, so fee won't be huge; big sell on percentage please!

Seems a bit quick to be moving him on ….

He’s been on our books for three years, his pathway to the first team is pretty much blocked (we’ve multiple options and keep adding in that area), Potter has seen a lot of him (he trained with first team a lot and made a brief PL debut) , and although still young - you’d expect he’d have made a Mac, Moder, Caicedo breakthrough by now.
It’s a risk but then the club eventually have to make the call as I guess he wants regular football.
On other hand he did only sign a new three year contract last summer…!

League 2 at 20 isn’t a great sign. Would have thought he would have got a loan somewhere in league 1 at least.

Game time is the most important thing. Don't want to put Leonard in a situation similar to Weir last year when he struggled to get enough time on the pitch. Better to play all the time in a slightly worse league then.

For anyone who doesn't know, Northampton missed out on automatic promotion on goal difference. They're an excellent League 2 team and the difference between top end league 2 and bottom end league is very small. I think this is an excellent loan move for him and a real chance to see what level his game is at.

Glenn Murray was still in league two / one at 24!

League Two. I’d have thought that he might be loaned out to a slightly higher level but maybe he needs a full loan season under his belt first. Still plenty of time for him.

No concerns with being in League 2 at 20 at all. How old were White, Sanchez and Rushworth in that division? And maybe Roberts going into League 1 at 18/19 was an indicator that too high is sometimes just that, too high.
