A Metro carriage full of Brighton was attacked by Ajax Ultras, wasn't it?Amsterdam was calm in my experience.... no obvious targeting from their Ultra sorts.
Unfortunately this is the only sensible option, if you want to relax and avoid trouble.will be on my guard and won’t be drinking in the pubs where the other fans are. It’s sad to have to think that way
Yep. But that was about it. And it was small numbersA Metro carriage full of Brighton was attacked by Ajax Ultras, wasn't it?
Most Marseilles fans are banned from travelling. It's likely to be the UK based Marseilles supporters that will attend.Yep. But that was about it. And it was small numbers
Good fun, safe trip otherwise. Most Ajax fans were friendly and complementary.
Once the drone of ‘Allllbbbiiioonnnn’ strikes up they’ll all be struggling to stay awake, let alone being pumped up for a scrap.Fair points. I hope with our man-bags and sophisticated continental ways they will think 'they're just like us, we dont need to fight them'; I guess we will have to wait and see.
Got to say when they had a go at midnight the night before the game, they didn't exactly seem to be overly worried about having a sore head in the morning for workCall me a fear mongerer but I do think Marseille at home might see some trouble. Their Ultras are a nasty bunch and an away match has fewer regular fans to dilute them. A full day of drinking and no work the next day, unlike when they were at home, adds to it. And then there's the fact it could be a group deciding match for both of us which stokes tension.
And they chucked that floormat at Albion fans in Brighton station when they were over here.A Metro carriage full of Brighton was attacked by Ajax Ultras, wasn't it?
I am sick of that shit chant. Why can't we sing the good old version of "Albion" that rhymes with "here we go"?Once the drone of ‘Allllbbbiiioonnnn’ strikes up they’ll all be struggling to stay awake, let alone being pumped up for a scrap.
That was top mat luzzing. And they chucked that floormat at Albion fans in Brighton station when they were over here.
100% this, there was at least one rendition on Saturday at Forest, need more IMO.I am sick of that shit chant. Why can't we sing the good old version of "Albion" that rhymes with "here we go"?
An Ajax fan said that there was trouble outside the Johan Cruyff arena when they played each other. Marseille fans attacking anyone basically. So there is definitely a naughty element when they travel.Do Marseille ultras travel abroad? I know there has been trouble at Nice and PSG but that is domestic.
Old reputations are hard to shake - I would argue it's the same with England and food also.It is ridiculous that English fans in any way are seen as problematic compared to those in Europe these days. That kind of event happens all over Europe at loads of games every single week, yet it is genuinely rare in the UK these days. Exceedingly rare in the Premier League.

You could say that about Marseille itself - crime, graffiti, no-go housing estates, etc.Inspired by Croydon.
Did you tip?Our Uber driver back to the airport in Marseille was a young lad who told us he was an Marseille hooligan and they were going to "Bring the fire" to Brighton
