Brentford are a well run club albeit quite heavily reliable on one forward who will be missing quite soon for possibly quite a while.

Fulham have improved on previous Premier League seasons by not conceding a cascade of goals however I suspect they pay far higher wages than we do for players like Leno and Willian

The thing is, so many football league clubs with money worries would bite our hand off for this situation.

As much as we’ve lost that ‘common touch’ being in the top flight, this is an incredibly well run successful football club.

I recommend everyone follows a non-league team for their ‘proper’ football fix. And we enjoy Brighton for what it is; Sussex against the world.

Totally agree. Been a big fan for 51 years. Seen us at over 70 away grounds mainly ropey ones. Season ticket holder at Withdean and the Amex. Not going today. What's the point? I have given Brighton players from Kit Napier and Kenny Beamish, Brian Horton and Michael Robinson, Danny Cullip and David Cameron to Lewis Dunk and Pascal Gross absolutely unconditional love. I've sung songs of devotion to Potter, the bloke who drinks estrella and the one who's come to win the Ballon d'Or and in return get complete disrespect. Na. Not bothered who wins today. I was sitting in a bar last May alongside 2 Man United fans watching Brighton go 4 up (with me already 5 pints down) and chanting "we want 5" to the whole bar. I thought life could never get better. We all know what has happened to the club since, yet, 2 weeks ago, I was privileged to watch what was probably the best ever performance by the team as we demolished Liverpool. I am confident we have not reached the ceiling and that we will continue to give the despicable 6, plus the barcode sportswashers, a very hard time. Europe is within reach and, from my recent personal experience, there will be many real fans of other clubs saying 'Good on you". The big 6 plastics don't like it up 'em.

They look at the way our players play and can see synergy with the way they want their teams to play. They are after players who are able to keep the ball in tight spaces, move it quickly to create and take advantage of overloads. Brentford have good players, but they set up more like counter attacking Leicester than Arsenal or City. Fulham are more protected from raids because they pay higher wages. They've also just been promoted, so the big boys won't be viewing their, so far very decent season as being a consistent thing.

I was being (semi) ironic. I am aware that we are playing a better quality of football, and our players would be of more interest to the "Bigger Teams" than Fulham or Brentford. We are victims of our own success.

Meh. People would be losing their shit if we were bottom of the table, losing every game and getting relegated. Then complaining when we couldn't get promoted.

Players come and go. I don't personally have a problem with it because I'm more excited about who comes in and is actually playing for the club.

With what is happening it seems the right time to revisit this. My mojo for today’s match is very low, not my love of BHA but for top class football. I get our business model to survive & improve need us to find young, low price talent, improve it & sell for a high price. It is the only way we can really compete against richer clubs. I also appreciate the club are doing everything they can to keep Caicedo but even if he stays we expect him to go in the summer after just a season & a couple of months starting in the first team. We had Cucurella for just one season now Caicedo disappearing after maybe even less time on the pitch.

How often can we replace lost talent if they are only going to stay for a year & a bit. We are on the verge of something special this season & even if we do manage to finish top 6 with Caicedo gone & quite probably Mac Allister also going in the summer who will be our DM pair to take on European clubs as well as the EPL. Who will the vultures target next? Mitoma? Sarmiento? Estupinan? Ferguson, the striker we have been waiting a long time for. Yes so far we have managed to find excellent replacements but when does that run out. The speed at which we are losing players seems to be ever increasing & even if we have talent waiting in the wings how long for them to really settle in.

This is a good point. We've lost too many over the past few windows, which is one reason I suspect Bloom is putting his foot down at the moment.

I think this season has been the biggest rollercoaster ride since the mid 90s. It's like every time we have an up (great start to season, great post World Cup) there's an immediate down (Potter going, and now the Moises saga).
However, hopefully come midweek the dust will have settled and we can move on. I just hope the team put in a performance today, win or lose to show they are still focused.

I love it, the challenge is to find the replacement which means we wont miss the players who want to go. As long as we get stupid money for these players then bring it on.
