for certain - the squad is nowhere near as good as the one mcghee took up, and that only just survived thanks to some pretty remarkable results

Who, apart from CKR (occasionally), McShane (on loan) and possibly Henderson in goal is so much better than the current squad ?

Henderson, Hart, El-Abd, McShane, Lynch, Hinshelwood, Mayo, Nicolas, Frutos, Carole, Reid, Noel-Williams, Kazim-Richards, Butters, Loft, Chaigneau, Hammond, Carpenter, Kuipers... (off the top of my head, there are probably others??)

Players being sold to pay for Falmer and lack of revenue i.e Elphick, will that help?
More loan signings, been a bit hit and miss haven't they?

Lord B or someone might be able to confirm, but as I see it, we can no longer use the Falmer Black Hole excuse. In the past when we were forking out left, right & centre for the public enquiry, yes, but now we have the planning permission and a separate company hired to take care of the funding process will mean the playing budget should increase.

i was talking about the team that SURVIVED in the championship. the likes of virgo, harding, kuipers at his BEST, blayney, a decent carpenter, and then to a lesser degree cullip and currie who, although only here for half a season, played a huge role in helping us stay up

Have they managed to actually get some cash into the Stadium accounts then? I wouldn't have thought so... but obviously they will start needing to quite soon.

At that point, I would agree with you, and in theory the football club will get some money back (but that is owed to the directors and shareholders who have lent money over recent years).

On the other hand, are any of our directors / shareholders going to be involved in financing the new stadium? In which case, the money might just go round in a circle! If not, it will be interesting to see if they need/choose to take their loans back, or are willing to see the football side of the club use that money.

OK, so the baseline is not very different... and we would need to strengthen... like we did last time... and we could survive again.

Anyway, it's all hot air, because it is extremely unlikely to happen.

we hardly strengthened though did we - the only player we signed who made any sort of impact was currie, and he was gone before christmas. molango, nicolas and jarrett i seem to remember being our other summer signings - the claridge, mccammon, blayney, shaban, yelldell, dolan added at other intervals

as you say though, there is no point worrying about it as it is not going to happen :jester:
