With 2 combative central midfielders, it's a racing certainty that they won't both be available on numerous occasions using the season. It's not bad luck, it's very predictable IMO.

I think the expectation is that Norwood and Sidwell can and will step up. The fact we haven't seen that yet is a concern but thats why we signed them.

It's bad luck that Stephens' got a very soft yellow.

Ofcourse they are not quite as good as Kayal and Stephens, if they were they would be starting on a regular basis.

Are they excellent back up.. absolutely. I maintain that we have the best group of 4 centre midfielders in the divsion.

Stop your whining, its what squads are for.

This... cannot believe the negativity of some on this thread...

Because we only play two in midfield it would be almost impossible to get two players of the quality of Kayal and Stephens to come here as squad players who may not get a sniff of a game for months. Norwood and Sidwell are both good players, just not as good as our first choice

4-5-1 away from home I think would create more quality chances. 4-4-2 we create loads of half chances but don't even hit the target with those and let the other side into the game without the first choice CM pairing I think you change it up.

I'm not to sure why you highlighted 'quality' while discussing a team that had NO shots on target, last night.

A midfield trio of Sidwell, Norwood and Ince on Saturday would be fine.

5 across the midfield and come away with something.

moan moan ****ing moan on here all the ****ing time.

You can't have it all, you think you're going to get two options as good as kayal and stephens happy to sit on the bench?

Oh, stop moaning.

The midfield 3 that were so spectacular together against Reading in the league cup.

There are plenty of championship teams that would love to have Norwood and Sidwell in their midfield . We just need to find the way to play with these lads in the team instead of Kayal and Stephens , it's never going to be a high scoring game anyway so it may actually work in our favour, who knows , 5pm Saturday will tell us I suppose .

Are these two of sufficient quality to fill the gap that will be left by the absence of Stephens and Kayal on Saturday? If not, why did we sign them?

Sidwell is better than Norwood but both are distinctly BANG average lower Championship level. Both negative players who offer nothing going forwards and all the while we have them both in midfield we wont score many goals.

We are hardly smashing the back of the oppositions net on a regular basis with Kayal and Stephens in midfield either though are we...

As for being average lower end Championship players...thats your opinion, certainly not mine, they are a lot better than you give them credit for.

The negativity on here is beyond belief.

Things could be worse, last season it was Crofts and Holla is our backup midfielders. Norwood and Sidwell are definitely upgrades on those two.

Quite simply, we don't concede, we don't lose.
And we currently have the best defensive record in the division.

Keep The Faith!
