This thread is manna from heaven for the anti CMS brigade.
I'm beginning to wonder if we have any players this mob actually like. Maybe just supporting whoever is top of the prem' any given week is the best idea for these people.

What anti-CMS brigade? Do you mean those who want to see a striker who can control a ball and score goals?

I am one of those, and I can confirm that I am a big fan of young Ashley Barnes. I also admire Liam Bridcutt, Will Buckley, and a number of the other players. So, what is your point?

Sorry but I think his first touch and tight control has improved in the off season, so far in the games already this season has looked superb

I'm not part of the Anti CMS Brigade, every player has a price even including CMS but Simster thinks we should sell him, for less then what we brought him for? How does that even work? What kind of Moron would even consider that!

In that case he may be actually able to score a goal by himself at some point, instead of just getting in the way of Barnes' shots? We will see if he stays.

CMS for this level is pretty decent in reality, quite tricky so far this season, hard working for sure, though that alone does not equate to being a good player alone. He is decent, not good enough for the prem, has reached his level, done well to do so

What an odd thing to say. Are we not allowed to express an opinion on our players if they are in any way negative?

It is called cutting your losses. If we are to believe what we have been told, he is on very high wages. Maybe Gus has a better use for them IF he can (or even wants to) offload him? The selling price would not be the only consideration.

I've ignored you so far, so please refrain from insinuating I am a moron just because YOU don't understand very basic business principles.

Oh, and the word you are looking for here is "bought", not "brought". You're not five years old anymore.

I would very much doubt, he is on higher wages then Vicente, Crofts etc. I can't see him being the highest Wage earner at our club can you?!

It really depends on what other ingredients you have lined up for the pot. If Gus needs £1.5m for another deal he has lined up someone whom he thinks will do a better job to match our style, then the loss on the transfer is accepted as a mistake made. Some you win, some you lose. We also don't no what salary implications there would be in terms of an overall saving. I certainly wouldn't keep him if I had someone lined up just because I couldn't get the money I paid - all depends on the overall picture doesn't it.

I agree though, taking a loss on the transfer without anything lined up would not be a great move, especially since CMS has started the season reasonably well.

"Chris Hughton at Norwich usually gives a straight no when asked about potential signings which are inaccurate. He didn't with CMS"

More specificallly, letting him go for ANY amount without anything lined up would not be a great move. Unless we're talking silly money like Huddersfield did, which obviously leaves scope for an expensive loan signing or a SWOOP in January,

Frankly, yes I can. But that it of no relevance. The point is they are high, and if Guy can use them for someone else who is more effective, he may wish to do so.
