That's odd. How is it possible to string together 20+ passes and get the ball into the six yard box without ever actually looking like we were threatening at all.

Sigh! Ponderous.

Half time.

Piss poor defending by JFC. Question,?guess what foot a right winger is likely to cross the ball in on....... SO DON'T SIT ON HIS LEFT You pillock!

But you have to wonder why JFC is dropping in to cover Bennett at left back when the team's just gone 1-0 up away from home. Would it be too much to ask for us to change tack for a few minutes at least and keep the full-backs in defensive positions?

Decent enough half, stockdales appalling throw caused the goal but defending otherwise ok. Bruno, Bennett and Colunga looking good going forward.

Don't think there is much chance of that. Tony said he was here for the long term only a week or so ago.

I think we just completely lack confidence.

According to the player commentary, we were defending really well. Score a goal and start defending badly.
A new manager would instill confidence by employing a system that (hopefully) actually works. What Bloom says in public and in private will be very different and if this slump continues Sami will be out by the end of the month imo. Anyway the game is not over but honestly can't see us getting more than a point from this game.

Anyone else think Stockdale could've done better with the shot?

It was only a yard to his side. I know people get angry when you dig out the keeper, but I'm starting to think he's a bit sh1t!

Really? Come on!

Stockdale is at fault for poor distribution, Bennett is at fault for making it so easy for his man to get his cross in, Ince is at fault for not tracking his man, the whole defence is at fault for being so flat footed.

Stockdale is not at fault for being beaten by a free header from 6 yards out, that is one place there is no fault.

I was all ready to come on and sarcastically say:-

'free header, 6 yards out, at the near post, you don't even have to be there to know Stockdale is shitehouse'.

Why didn't I just trust the predictable nature of NSC

BUT WHO WOULD COME HERE
most British managers would not last five minutes with our transfer policy

Stockdale is at fault for poor distribution, JFC is at fault for making it so easy for his man to get his cross in, Sami is at fault for a system that leaves midfielders defending at full back against quicker players, Ince is at fault for not tracking his man, the whole defence is at fault for being so flat footed.

Sorry for quoting my own post, but it needs editing for accuracy.

That is how the system of wing backs dictate and the correct thing for JFC to do when Bennett is attacking.
