After the hard-fought defeat by Lancashire, Sussex are getting closer to full-strength. Ollie Robinson returns to the team and Travis Head finally makes his first appearance. Amazingly, our batting hasn't been too bad (we have the most batting points in the group and second most in the whole competition) but Head should improve our line-up (cue him getting a quacker first innings)

Squad
Ben Brown (captain, wicketkeeper), Jamie Atkins, Jack Carson, Tom Clark, Henry Crocombe, Tom Haines, Travis Head, Stuart Meaker, Delray Rawlins, Ollie Robinson (vice-captain), Joe Sarro, Aaron Thomason, Stiaan van Zyl

I suspect Sarro and one of the quicks will miss out (Garton has been rested)

Jofra's getting back to fitness in the Seconds, although he hasn't taken a wicket yet. Hope to see him in the team for the Kent game. CJ will probably be back for that too, now that the IPL is over.

Reading about Jofra and the 2nd Xi game against Surrey, Laurie Evans was playing for the Surrey 2nds. Didn't he leave us because he wasn't getting picked for CC games?

Northants chose to bowl so could be a bit of a green-top with some cloud around

Head won't be used to conditions like these - I can't see him getting many in his first knock

I see that we've picked Sarro - we're certainly giving our kids a chance

21-6 now - this is grim

EDIT. We have beaten our lowest ever F/C score - that was 20 against Yorkshire

I do not follow the cricket religiously but take a keen interest. Can someone explain to me what Ben Brown offers the team other than being the wicket keeper. Doesnt seem to offer anything on the batting front at all. Happy to be shown error of my ways...

We might not win this.

What's our lowest ever score

Have a look at his record over the past few seasons. He's been our most consistent and reliable batsman.
