Me and 3 others are driving up and staying over in Carlisle for a night (did that last year)

Looking at train times, I think the best thing to do is to book advance tickets from Kings Cross to Newcastle from National Express Train tickets for travel to London, York, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow
(when they go on sale) and buy a CDR to Carlisle.

On the day, buy your Brighton- London tickets (3 for 2 and 4 for 2 offers apply). I think thats the cheapest way to do it

 cheers

It works out cheaper on the train, if you take advantage of group deals and buy tickets in advance. I've managed to do every game cheaper than the coach so far this year (and what I've worked out to, upto Carlisle in November)

Coach is handy for midweek away though, e.g Doncaster last year and Stockport this year

mate are you going to this one, if so how u getting there, i may drive, surrey jim u up 4 it

A customer of mine , when I had the pub in Burgess Hill, told me that he went on the Costa Express because invariably they got complimentary tickets at the games so the price in most cases included entry. Knowing how he was always at the back of the queue to buy his round I would believe it to be true but I have no first hand experience.
