Top idea to have the "popular" stand unreserved seating, would be like being back in the North Stand again, always make sure that you get there early enough to either stand where you want to. I reckon that for at least 90% of the games I saw from the North I was stood within a few feet of the same spot, will never forget that place, it felt like it was mine. We need to recreate that feeling at the new ground.

Well, I've shoved a question about it on Ask the Club, so we should get some indication as to whether it'll be considered.

I really hope so. The players hate the atmosphere at Withdean, what better way for the club to help the fans get behind the team as ONE

on a pig farm
and just to recreate the old atmosphere, we could ask the caterers to supply warm flat coke..........just like the old days:lolol:

On NSC for over two decades...
what if the north stand at falmer is given to away fans?

Better bloody well not be!! That's the whole point of the thread - we need to make sure the club know that we want our North Stand BACK!!

There is no legal reason why this can't be done, only bureaucratic and the good will.

If I recall originally, DK use to be a promoter of a terraced end at Falmer, which would be changed to a seating area, if we ever reached the Premiership!

as far as i can work out, the north stand at falmer will be the biggest stand running along one side of the pitch

I would say your right to a point, however seeing as the ground will be running NW to SE it will never be a true North Stand.

The corner will in fact be the true North Stand!

The biggest stand will be the South West Stand.

The biggest stand would be the SW stand by my reckoning, in order artfully to conceal the bulk of the main stand into the rise of the field.

:albion2:The NW stand behind one goal could recreate the old North Stand effect on windy days of fans moving further back into the stand as the gale off the sea blew the rain into your face.

Another advantage of the NW stand as a singing section is the sound would be directed towards Falmer village; and nearest the station for a quick getaway. :albion2:

Yep I reckon the Northwest stand nearest the train station will be the prime choice for the new 'Northstand' especially if we can sneak in a terrace. However the stands behind the goals arn't that big due to the slope of the site which might effect atmosphere.

Second choice would be the stand running the length of the pitch opposite the main stand. The design of the stand having its biggest depth at the halfway line would make it good for creating atmosphere, and would give a great view of the pitch. We'd also be closer to the away supporters who are likely to end up in the South East corner of the ground I think.
