Thanks, for making it clear. So are you telling me that not one single person behind where the man was standing wanted to sit down for the entire 90 minutes.

So you are telling me that not one person behind where the man was standing wanted to stand for the entire 90 mins?.
my question is just as valid as yours

Who is screaming and stamping their feet?

Me and others have written to the club about safe standing and it was blown out the water in a letter about standing sent by Paul Barber to all season ticket holders. Well I assume all. I got one anyway but I do hold a North season ticket.

Guess your letter must have gotten lost in the post.

You give up easily - very few battles were ever one on the first skirmish.

I don't think stewards/rozzers eject without good reasons or a friendly warning first.

You'd like to think so wouldn't you? I was in East Stand 1901 today and after the first goal we all do that Al-bion chant, standing up with arms stretched for a second or two and then sit down. All this whilst the players return to the positions before kicking off again. Well, I did that for all of a second. and a minute after had a steward warn me that another fan had complained about me doing that. I'm honestly not joking, I stood for 2 seconds gave a quick chant and sat down and the game hadn't been re-started.

Aside from the completely disproportionate response from the steward, I learnt from other fans who were as gobsmacked as me that it was a bloke 2 or 3 rows behind me in the back row that had complained. If that bloke is reading this, can I just say you're a c unt and a cowardly c unt at that. After you realised that I knew what you had done when I pointed you out you f***ing legged it straight on the whistle like your pants were on fire. Wanker.

I don't think uncle c would have been very good in the fight v archer and bellotti. He'd just say lets not storm the west stand or write sack the board on the pitch, it's against regulations. You have to create a fuss and an issue for stuff to change or it never does. This is a simple fact. Writing a letter or asking politely rarely works. Safe standing will come, but only if we have more incidents and the crowd make it known they aren't happy and don't want to sit. Revolutions change the world, not politely adhering to rules and writing a letter.

THIS is exactly the point.

One thing I am also confused about is that what is UNSAFE about the current standing? The club arent enforcing this because of angry FA officials as every club in England, from Manchester United to Barnet, have a section of support that stands up. The section in which the man was thrown out of has everybody from him upwards standing and nobody complains, they are there because they want to stand. The club CANNOT make the NS a place were standing is "more tollerated". It doesnt mean people have to stand all game but surley its one or the other?

Oh for christs sake, your comparing standing at a football match to the fight against them  Theres a MASSIVE difference.

I tried Google translate, but it still made no sense.

I think the problem lies in having four rows at the back standing. Either make the whole North Stand standing or none of it.

Yep, the club have made a massive mistake here, the 4 rows standing was always going to spread further down, thus causing this situation. As you say, whole stand or none of it.

Its the complete 'game of two halves' that gets me......and today isn't the first time that Stewards are asking everyone to sit down in the first half, but then seem to disappear for the entire second half? If this 'rule' is to be applied in the North Stand, then please, please Mr 'Stand Manager' apply it consistantly, then your 'customers' will know where they stand (or not, as the case may be).

Who said I have given up?

Whilst the debate continues I will stand though, as I disagree with the current rules amd do not want to follow them.

So if the person behind you asks you to sit down what would you say.

Absolutely agree with you mate.

Where is the harm in letting a minority of fans in the North stand, and it is a minority. Behind the goal at the back. I haven't seen.anybody get badly injured from this so far. The 'safety' arguement is a load of old shit.

Of course it is. I'm not comparing the two side by side. I'm saying that for things to change in law and establishments you need to show them that you are not happy. First we need Barber onside, once he thinks safe standing is what the fans want and there is incident after incident, then when the FA allow safe standing, we are in a position to get it.
You have to show dissent, anger. You can't just sit there nicely in the North and just complain to the ticket office you want to stand. Who will listen? No one because they will say everyone sits so there's no problem.
I can't believe you can't see that.

My last word on this - if you are going to continue to stand which is clearly (and probably) against the rules - dont come on here and start bitching about the club as if anything, the club are doing this as a warning, seeing as there has been weeks of doing nothing of course - which does nothing as well as the stewarding is so inconsistent.

If I were in the North and everyone was standing and singing, I'd tell that person to move down the front or to a seat in the corner and not bother buying a ticket in the north again... Because that's where you get alot of standing.
