I've posted this is another thread on the same subject.......a steward who was involved in the ejection (I saw the fan being marched out by the police) told me when I asked him that he had been ejected for foul and abusive language. He did not mention persistent standing as the reason therefore someone IS lying and I tend to believe your version of events because others who were nearby have said the same. The steward who had him ejected was obviously hurt by the abuse he got from other fans initially and IMO sought to redress the hurt he felt by getting the police involved. A decent steward would have done what the commander said and that was to have a quiet word on the concourse but no.....straight in with the size 12's.....bang out of order

It's easy to say someone should just take abuse of someone. I would not take abuse of anyone would you? You see on here how some people react to criticism. Treat people how you want to be treated, if you treat someone like shit, then do not moan when you are shown the door. There are plenty of ways to go about getting safe standing. Being abusive and obstructive are not the way

Standing in the Norht Stand

Funny, how not one steward came to ask ANY fans to sit down during the palace game which thus provide precedence that this is not an enforceable rule.
When I bought my ticket they advised back 7 rows could stand, for 2 seasons nearly we have until the Barnsley game. Paul (your customers not fans) Barber wrote to advise we had changed seat number but never advised on enforcing a sit down rule.

This guy did not Swear, use intimidating behaviour, only remonstrated that why pick on him to which the stewards (who would seem come from thickidiotsorus.com) could not advise only that they were advised to select him.

If Mr Paul (your customers not fans) Barber wants to enforce write to all fans on renewal of season tickets!, however anyone who calls people customers and fans probably has no idea about football, and if this is enforced across the stadium would result in a quiet, un-passionate and boring atmostshere.

So if you want to sit down, that’s great just move to another stand i.e. the Library Stand (west) or the children’s playground (east)

This guy should have his ticket back, and an apology for the abusive and victimization he received from the Stewards, who kept saying we are just following orders...........so did the Nazi SS!

Yes, they did (and, yes, in the North stand).

BTW, don't assume the majority of Albion fans agree with your attitude on this...

But you can throw a bottle on the pitch and just get evicted no ban Justice, i think not

.........The north Stand back rows have been, and always will be standing, if you want to sit thats fine, but dont complain on the passionalte fans at the back who dont and create the the 12th man. If you dont like standing you have the opportunity to move seats at tend of the season to a quieter and less passionate stand!!

How exactly have you decided the other stands are less passionate ?

Lazy post. I've read every single word on every single page of the thread and have given my opinion based on my understanding of the rules, which appear to have been breached. I didn't say I felt a season ban was fair, and the video clearly showed lots of people standing up who were also breaching the rules. The point is that he should've sat down when told to by the steward i.e. the authority within the stadium, whose terms and conditions he has entered into when purchasing a ticket.

It goes back to the sense of entitlement that football fans have because they've paid £26 a ticket. It is similar to my field of work, the theatre, where groups of brazen young women turn up hammered on hen nights having paid £30-£60 to some shows (Mamma Mia!, Dirty Dancing, Flashdance, Ghost: The Musical, Viva Forever! etc etc etc), trying to smuggle in alcohol, shouting out during the performance and generally being a drunken nuisance to everybody else. There was even an instance recently where someone urinated in the corner of the auditorium! They feel they have bought the right to behave that way.

People pay X for a ticket and they think they are buying the right to behave they THEY deem to be acceptable, not within the rules established when they buy a ticket. A ticket grants you entry to a match provided you abide by the rules. Failure to abide by the rules, even if "everyone else is ignoring them" is likely to leave the risk of being ejected and possibly banned. You buy a ticket, you get entry. You abide by the rules. If you don't, you leave yourself open to be punished. If he's stood for two years without being punished until now he is lucky and can consider himself fortunate rather than a victim.

Don't stand up excessively/talk back to the stewards/refuse to let someone search your bag etc etc etc and you'll never get ejected. Just turn up and enjoy the match. It's so much simpler...

:shit:

I don't know why people are being so protective of the OP. He done something wrong right? Sure, other people may have been doing it, but that is no excuse. He broke the regulations and thus deservedly got his ban, like he agreed to at the start of the season when he paid for his season ticket.

:****er: are you ob?

I can't comment on why this particular fan was singled out but it is a method of crowd control and enforcement used the world over. How exactly would the club eject say 200 fans in one go ? It just isn't possible. What they do is try and pinpoint key people and eject them in the hope that will encourage others to behave how the club want. It's no different to any other situation with large crowds - in a riot the police don't arrest every single person, they go for ring leaders and if they can they catch other people later.

So the club have two choices - either allow a free for all or attempt to enforce the rules by making examples of people.

What are the suggestions of those that are claiming the club are picking on individuals to how the club should eject all people standing ? Stating "standing should be allowed" isn't currently an option either.

*** And for the avoidance of doubt, I'm not supporting either option or commenting on the gentleman that was ejected ***

er its not a riot you clown its someone standing amongst people who dont mind .Shall i explain what an "analogy" actually is?
