Did anyone bring up the idea of the singing section being down by the North West corner flag. It can then be populated by ultra fanatics to stand and shout all game and create an intimidating atmosphere. It would only take half a dozen or so. Can't believe no other club has tried it.

The whole idea is to bring the singers more central, so that the north stand don't sing two different songs all the time, now you're proposing to bring in a third element ?

Words to GOSBTS WILL go on the screen as a trial. Might allow the 'other' 27000 fans to join in.
:clap2::clap2::clap2:

At last...!!!

Get the whole ground to join in the ritual singing of SBTS before the start of every home match and then you have much more chance of the same people joining in with other songs.

Might take a bit of time to build up but could be a massive improvement.

"NOW is the time for marching..."

Perhaps they see you you as an obnoxious **** for stopping them from sitting in a seat they have selected in order to have the best match day experience. What gives you the right to act like a bully.

Everyone who wants to stand towards the back and sing throughout the game with the old timers and bobble hatters at the front sitting down handing out Werthers Originals works quite well  If some **** turns up at five to three insisting on sitting down in the back row of the stand to remain silent for the next 90 minutes when its getting boisterous obviously needs their head examining.

I think you have missed the irony of his post. He was taking the piss out of the Palace Ultras.

It was a positive meeting. Paul Beirne definitely wants to engage with supporters in a way which hasn't happened for a while and do whatever is possible (may be more, may be less) to end the 'fragmentation' of the atmosphere in the North Stand. The main suggestion in this regard is that non-allocated seats in the central areas of the NS could be marketed as a 'singing area' and new purchasers, both of one offs and season tickets, who want to be part of that atmosphere, could be directed there, while other general purchasers are directed elsewhere. This hasn't happened before. In general terms it looks as though there is going to be some kind of a move to re-establish an independent supporters' group which can channel opinion to the Board in a constructive and organised way. I say 'it looks as though' because new, younger people are intending to take this forward. People like me have done our bit :)

Good to hear it was positive.

Now let's see some action to go with the words.

they said this four years ago about an independent supporters group. Now they need to talk with the fans which I think okay if we talk about fans experiences and not who sacked and who we sign then it may work. After all we are Brighton Fans till we die.

Huddersfield Town have just had their say on their "Home Match Day Experience"
There 2 main issues which need resolving:
1. Catering (!)
2. Match Programme ?

"63% of supporters reported seeing some improvement to their match day experience in the past 12 months and 27% cited the North Stand Loyal as the biggest improvement to their day"
Anyone know what the North Stand Loyal is?

Not exactly a lot of words to Glad all over is there SE20
Mind you that's handy as most of your lot aren't in the reading and writing bracket

When we go into the 2nd verse, when the holmesdale sing one line, and the Arthur sing the next, it's quite complex.
Just as well we know the words, but you would expect that being long term, literate fans

**** sake. They weren't talking about moving everyone, just those who are in the North but not arsed about singing. This thread shows what a challenge it would be, spitting the dummy at the mere thought of being asked to help the Amex atmosphere

Spot on. The stand behind the goal at every ground is where yo go to sing, if you dont want to sing go and find a place with a better view , where you can sit comfortably and eat your pie.
the north is for the singers.

i know im gonna get slated for this by the non singers, but traditionally thats where you go to sing.

Go on then slate me

No, but the club do make the away team feel at home by changing the away ends colours for each game

How do you police it? And when you say spitting the dummy at the thought of being asked to help with the atmosphere, dare I suggest that if the 20 odd thousand that are in the ground could do a lot more then just moan about the atmosphere, they could sing.
The problem runs a lot deeper then asking the whole North to sing, it is made up of varying groups, all with different agendas when it comes to singing or indeed if we go back a few weeks, on whether Sami should go. I have the feeling a lot of people will not join in with the police box crew and the same could be said for them. They will not join in with what anyone other groups that sings in the north. This board is an example of how differing the views can be, only the team doing well can improve the atmosphere.
