As one of the old folk in the North stand, I chose my seat nearer the front so that I wouldn't be in the way of those who want to stand. Oh yes, and I sing too.
Good stuff, move nearer the back and join in the fun!

We would like you to come with ideas and suggestions that you feel will help boost the atmosphere at the Amex.
The safety & security bloke is very new, as Chris Baker only left last month.
no, Adrian has worked at the club for years... used to be head steward at withdean for one of the stands.. and I think worked at the goldstone too. so... not a newbie at all..and knows all the history and is a fan.

Bog off.I think putting the away fans where the family stand is, is the best idea. Move the family stand to the South so we have fans behind both goals. Will certainly crank up the atmosphere.
Long term:
- Join other clubs (Villa, Bristol City, Peterboro etc.) in offering to trial rail seats in the North Stand. It’s time the club actually listened to the fans and supported safe standing. To date, Barber has been incredibly condescending when asked to publicly support this. Given our history this is utterly shameful in my opinion.
- Acoustics are terrible when compared with other grounds, could the North Stand roof be clan differently to reflect noise better?
- Make the North Stand steeper. I’ve attached a couple of before and after images.
There is no chance they will make structural alterations to the Amex. No chance in hell. They're not going to spend any money if they can help it. They might consider showing support to safe standing. But in all honesty, if we, the fans wanted it that badly, maybe we should have asked for it BEFORE they spent god knows how much on all of those padded seats.
The focus should be on strategy to make the most of what we've got.
Moving fans around, relaxing stewarding are the two best things. That Cardiff example is really interested and should be hammered home to them.
They really do need to win the hearts of the fans back. All of the marketing bullshit we've been subjected to really isn't helping the passion of the fans. It feels like the whole experience is being americanised and diluted down into a bill pile of meh. "Matchday experience" "Be bold" "One Club. one Ambition" all of that bollocks needs to be toned down.
Yes we are a business, yes we have to sell merchandise, but we're a football club first and foremost. They need to start remembering that fact or it's going to get worse.
How can people blame the design of the stadium? I didn't realise that NSC was full of acoustic experts and architects.

The sound has, does and always will be pushed to the pitch, its the way it was designed, the way the club said it would work...thats why the players say sometimes its deafening on the pitch, that's why Mr Green famously said on 5Live 'its so loud here i can't hear myself think...i am just going to talk and i am not sure you can hear me'.
Jeeze some people would moan if they won the lottery because it wasn't a rollover.
The design of the North Stand is awful and unfortunately the plans for the stadium were shown to the supporters without any consultation on design. Any fans who's been around the country/world to see other games could've told the club that the pitch of the stand and the roof were just wrong. However, it shouldn't just be cast aside. Mayfair Seagull put it as a long-term aspiration and maybe in time who knows?
Short-term the Cardiff idea certainly needs to be looked into closer. I have a contact at Cardiff City and don't mind putting the new new chap at the Albion in touch with him to explore this further, but the Club need to show an appetite for change, not just by laying on some sandwiches when the going gets tough.
Those trying to blame the structure and design of the stadium really are making excuses. The atmosphere at the Amex has been electric at times, plus other teams such as Leeds and Palace have also made a lot of noise there.
We have ourselves to blame I am afraid, not the structure of the stadium, that is an excuse and a crap one at that.
Indeed...................Trying to repair something they have ruined ... priceless !!
