I'm a young fan, never heard of the fella. R.I.P Norman, but what did he do at the club?

He was a director from 1964 to 1970. And he wrote what evolved into the Albion's version of Sussex By The Sea.

He also played in goal:-

In the field
In an age where comics feel the need to be crude in order to get laughs it is all very easy to forget genuine comic geniuses like Norman Wisdom. He captivated literally millions of fans around the world through his facial expressions, stunts (mainly done by himself) and slapstick humour.

Despite being a young fan of his (I'm 23), I spent much of my childhood watching his films and being amazed. He was a genuinely funny and incredibly warm bloke (I had the pleasure of meeting him on the Isle of Man once). Let us not forget that Charlie Chaplin listed Norm as his favourite clown as well as Laurel and Hardy rating him very highly.

Rest in peace Norm, these modern comedians could learn a lot from you.
