Did anyone else think that Corden's sketch made the audience uncomfortable because he was bloody on the mark about sponsorship deals etc...

They were acting and their responses would have been shot in isolation and edited in.

Some parts of the sketch were obviously shot without the audience there.

Although I found it funny, the Ashes to Ashes was brilliant, especially the cameo by Peter Shilton.

Very clever.

Premier League donating 250k.......pathetic. About 10% of Man City's weekly wage bill.

Should be 10 times that

Exactly my thoughts less than half John Terrys weekly wage, having a laugh

I got SLATED for saying that to my dad a minute ago! Outrageous, considering the money being thrown around the Premier League, a quater of a million really is nothing.

Bearing in mind the number of African players in the league, it would have been a better gesture if they had all donated a weeks wages. That and the UK players would have raised £3m I would have thought. Although there are some that do donate a lot in their home countries, Drogba for one is involved in projects in the Ivory Coast.

The premier league shouldn't have bothered with the £250k as it makes them look worse than if they hadn't got involved at all.

Figures from 2007 show that the top four paid £392.4m in wages. One weeks wages would be £7.5m. And that is just the top 4. Add in Man City now and you can only wonder what it would get up to.

He didn't do that speach in 09. He did that in front of an empty audience, and they shot the people in the audience on the night and compiled it into a sketch. The Radcliffe thing was intentional.

My opinion.

Actually, Edit:

I think I'm wrong.

From the making of which I think was on BBC 2, it looked live. He had a 10 min slot to go out and do it during the Sports Personality 09.

One question, why was kriss akabusi actually there? Hasn't done anything for sport in the last 10 years has he?

The Smithy sketch is the funniest thing I've seen on TV this year. Absolutely superb.

I'm glad he shares my loving adoration of Victoria Pendleton.
