Acceptable: Prior to the players taking to the field, Donna-Marie will also sing Abide With Me in memory of those Albion players and fans who've passed away during the 2016/17 season -
including ex-skipper Paul McCarthy and Albion stalwart Paul Whelch.

Unacceptable: The operatic soprano - and Amex fans' favourite - will be welcoming the teams to the field with a live rendition of Sussex by the Sea before the 5.30pm kick-off.

Isnt this the proverbial " it isnt all over until the *** lady Sings " !!!

Not a great fan of this singer. Think she uses a bit to much vibrato! Other than that don't mind the operatic bit. As for Abide with Me, hope they have the words up so the crowd can join in as our tribute to those that didn't get to see this moment. The montage from 1997 included a clip of a friend who died far too young.

I think she's great. May I request she does Rivers of Babylon, to remind us of the last time something like this happened?

That would remind us of the 1978 defeat against Blackpool.

I would suggest a rendition of 'Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please' The desperacy of the back end of the song will show kinship with those stuck on the concourses.

When did she become the fans favourite?

If we must have classical music why not have Fantasia on British sea songs along with Pomp and Circumstance March #1.

Lots of flag waving singingand bobbing up and down.

I thought we won the Blackpool game 2-1

Agreed.

but you'll not be able to understand them

Reminds me of when I took my mother to see Rigoletto. "Well?", said I in the first interval. "It's very good, but I can't understand a word. It sounds like it's being sung in Greek", she replies. "Or Italian", I observe. "No, Greek, I think". I toyed with the idea of not telling her about the surtitle screen, but relented.

...yet still a lot of the happy clappers insist on going at the pace of The Can-Can.
Saturday will be the usual shambles when anyone tries to sing SBTS on the pitch.

Brilliant if we could actually sing the following but not very likely....

1st verse
Now is the time for marching, Now let your hearts be gay,
Hark to the merry bugles Sounding along our way.
So let your voices ring, my boys, And take the time from me,
And I’ll sing you a song as we march along,
Of Sussex by the Sea!

Chorus
For We're the men from Sussex, Sussex by the Sea.
We plough and sow and reap and mow,
And useful men are we;
And when you go to Sussex, Whoever you may be,
You may tell them all that we stand or fall
For Sussex by the Sea!

Refrain
Oh Sussex, Sussex by the Sea!
Good old Sussex by the Sea!
You may tell them all we stand or fall,
For Sussex by the Sea.

2nd verse
Up in the morning early, Start at the break of day;
March till the evening shadows Tell us it's time to stay.
We're always moving on, my boys, So take the time from me,
And sing this song as we march along,
Of Sussex by the Sea.

Refrain
