I know i am in a minority here. But I think

1 Noone's delivery is poor

2 He freezes/panics whenever he gets a scoring opportunity.

I can't see how he can be in the starting eleven when we eventually have a fit team.

Great to have as a sub though!

I am assuming this is supposed to be an attempt at sarcasm?

he's a flair player, and flair players will naturally lose the ball sometimes because they take more risks

gus likes his flair players to take risks, and it's paying off for noone who was absolutely terrorising their right back yesterday and has and will set up many of our goals this season

as for his finishing- he's a winger not a striker.........equally i think greer's crossing and goal kicks are slightly below par

Surely it's plain to see that Barnes is not good enough and a weak link in the side.

Do you get excited when he gets the ball??

I don't ! If he's young and learning then fair enough put him in the development squad!

Noone, KLL, MkS and Buckley all quality attacking players. Barnes waste of a player in my opinion

Only 4.

I felt gus took hi off because he was losing possession yesterday. When we need to keep it. Plus he wasted 2 good shooting opportunities.

But hey seems I must be wrong.

Lets see how he progresses.

One thing you don't do if you want to retain posession is bring on Lua Lua! If that was the ploy he'd have brought on Navarro for Noone and reverted to the same formation that nullified Cardiff.

I can't believe this post. Were we watching the same game yesterday? I thought that Noone was outstanding and so did most of the Blackpool fans that I spoke to. It just shows how people can form different perceptions of a player/game. Each to his own I guess.

May be I have overstated my case.

His part in the 2 goals yesterday was cool.

However he loses possession far too much. Usually after a crowd pleasing nutmeg.

Well time will tell

I can see where you are coming from. If Noone was as lethal a finisher as he is a dribbler, we'd have another Peter Ward! So it can be frustrating when he doesn't make the most of the space he's created from nothing. Several times yesterday, it looked like he's done the hard work and didn't make the most of what he'd created.

However, yes, I think you've massively overstated your case. Anyone can pick out the aspects of any player's game that are weaker than their strengths, hone in completely on those, and build a case for why that player is overrated. Frankly, that says more about your one-sided approach to analysis when you started this thread than it does about Noone's game. Well done for at least being willing to see that you may have over-criticised Noone.

While there is room for improvement in the aspects of play you mention, Noone has nevertheless made an immense contribution to the Albion this season, from the way he expertly unlocked the Doncaster defence to the panic he struck in the Blackpool team yesterday. Even when the rest of the team collectively lost form towards the end of last season, he was the only one who didn't. He's going to lose the ball as he tries out new ways of beating players. Yet there is no doubt in my mind that his overall game has come on leaps and bounds. Plus his enthusiasm for the game is rubbing off on his team mates, which is another plus.

What utter bollocks, was you at yesterdays game? or any of the games this season? one of the turning points yesterday was taking noone off and putting lua lua on,IMO.

Football pundit Wallyback probably thinks we should sell the useless Bridcutt, Dunk & Buckley.

Clearly this is also a fishing trip - but I did take a look at how many goals Barnes scored at the backend of last year and the start of this... 12 goals in 16 games (8 in the last 9) - thats not including Spurs which wasnt a competitive game either.

Put simply, Barnes has an instinct which puts him at the right place at the right time to score goals... yes he will miss chances, but finishing can be trained on, instinctive positioning can't. He also has the balls to take penalties given all our problems on that score last year.
