For me, that line is the reason we shouldn't sell him at that price. Who would we bring in that is any better than him for that money? But as always I will trust Gus's decision to do the right thing for the club.

Did you read my long post? If you want to know the answer to your question - that might give you some thought starters? "Who would we bring in that is better than him for that money?" is not the question to be asking.

By some sort of comparison, Leicester are apparently back in for Cameron Stewart for £1.5m. I don't know much about Stewart but his stats this season
(I understand he has been injured) look relatively similar to Nooney's stats (I say relatively - half the number of games).

I know Stewart's younger and there could be some argument about 'potential', but I'd say they're in a similar ball-park in terms of value at the moment.

I just don't think we should really b a selling club now would like to c us build a team round dunk, briders, noone, jfc, and really try and kick on.
Until we are much nearer the top of the footballing tree then we will always be a selling club when someone offers the right price. Anyone who thinks differently is almost certainly delusional!!

No, Steve Cook is the reason we sold Steve Cook. Good player that is he is, Brighton got an offer they thought was fair and wanted to let the boy play.

You neglect to include that we never really used him and gave him the indication he is involved so why wouldn't he want to go elsewhere to play and get a wage increase.

I would have thought there will be a sell on clause. It doesn't seem likely that there isn't one. I hope there isn't, but I think there probably is.

You seem to forget they were desparate for money to prevent them going out of business. They were not in a strong bargaining position.

How is that a decent amount if a player of similar calibre in Buckley cost us much more? Noone has been far more effective as a winger this season than any other player we have..

He was only miles from being a regular because Poyet didn't want to play him. We saw from his matches against Man City, Liverpool and Saints that he is more than capable.

As for Noone being more effective, that's just because he has been on the pitch. He might go round players but he can't deliver a final ball. Both Buckley and are ahead of him in being effective but they have just been injured too often.

Are you sure we have a sell on clause? Pretty sure we were desperate for cash just before we went into admin when we sold him. Probabaly took an extra 50k instead of a sell on. Stupid decision but they didnt care about the future.

We were in the same position when the bank forced us to sell Saunders all those years ago for just £60k and just over a year later he went to Derby for a million!
