Train companies and bus companies should be ashamed of themselves. Is it really too much to ask that they run services on Boxing day in 2012. It's not the 1950's anymore.

It really does look as though they are going to move this fixture doesn't it which is totally rubbish. Christmas without Boxing Day football really isn't very good.

I just don't understand why if it was so vital that we didn't play at home on Boxing Day it wasn't sorted when the fixtures were worked out

Because we are only allowed a small number of such requests ( 2 ?? ) each season. Pride took one, and it's been indicated that the Lib Dem conference took the other.

They obviously gambled at the time, and subsequently lost, that Boxing Day would be away anyway.

I suspect (?) its more than two unless the League were flexible with us last season & this year, have decided to put their foot down?

I thought Saturdays change of KO was for an Open Day at the Uni. rather than the Lib Dem Conference? Whatever it was changed for, the Leeds game has been shifted to a Friday due to another Uni event I believe? That makes three changes so far this season if you include Pride.

As I remember, last season we had four changes that weren't TV related: Doncaster, where we requested a home game, Leeds & Hull, both moved due to Uni events plus Barnsley which clashed with Lewes Bonfire.

Moved for Sky TV.

I thought you were only allowed to make one request and they wouldn't even guarantee that, but they've been generous and let us have to.

The lib dem conference wasnt last Saturday it was the Saturday before. Changes to time, I.e. on the same day , don't count. Do you realise how massively complicated organising the fixtures is?

We were away at Burnley for Pride and Millwall for the Lib Dem conference.
Last season we were away at Portsmouth (2nd game of the season) when Pride was on but home for the 1st game of the Season for which Doncaster also requested an away game. Because of the sequencing this only really amounts to one request.
I can't remember if there was a political party conference in at the centre last year.

This is all speculation.... If someone from the club is reading, can you please confirm if the game will be on Boxing Day?

I assume it will be on the website, once a decision made. But it is looking VERY unlikely.

If it is off I suggest you all come to the big derby match in County League Two. Newhaven Town v Seaford Town at 11am on Boxing Day. El Coastico.

I'll be there!

Given we have around 2000 P&R spaces, 2000 car park spaces and if everyone filled their car up the majority of the crowd could drive. As I understand it neither the car parking or P&R are at capacity. Some local people can walk to a P&R, others can cycle, walk, bus or taxi. Is there really a need to postpone it?

Looking at the Bus Times (I know how to live!) I see that Bevendean & coldean will be having a Boxing Day bus service for the 1st time since horse & cart, yet the flagship service 25 will, for this year, be taking a rest.
