First image of my current faves was this one. Apologies for the vulgarity.

Er , No

Basil Rathbone is by far the best SH.

Er, er No,

You sire are wrong, The Rath is impossible to watch as Watson is a complete blithering idiot.
Where as Edward Hardwicke complements JB making for a far superior SH.

I think snivelling FAT francophone, Hercule Poirot, should be NSC's LEAST favourite detective. Apart from that shithouse Murder She Wrote, obviously.

oncoulet putan! or however you spell/say it.

Poirot was a GENIUS. And I got his autograph when they filmed part of an episode at Butlins in Saltdean.

Abort, retry, fail
I am amazed that no-one has nominated Hetty Wainthropp. :jester:

I think we can bend the rules slightly and include someone like Dr Mark Sloan. Whilst detective work was not his job description, he did some fine work in that field.

Hard work his bum-chinned son made a glorified career of. No independence, that meathead, bathing in his father's societal congratulations.

May i include the put-upon tiny-shorted detective Magnum too please:
