Was thinking as I came in this morning who you could nominate to carry the torch through Brighton and Hove and I immediately thought of Tony Bloom for obvious reasons. But then I thought, hang on, yes the guy is a star but perhaps others are more deserving. Paul Samrah has to be top of the tree in my book for the tireless hours he has put into this, or Martin Perry? Someone deserves it for the stadium that has been given to the City.

Look - there's only one person who should carry the Olympic torch through Brighton - the Billboard bloke from Glodstone/Gillingham/Withdean.

It would be absolute class if he wandered through the streets of Brighton with everyone shouting "Put that torch down. I can't see".

I might even petition the club, it really is that good an idea.

Steve Ovett is the 'logical' choice although Sally Gunnell is lives in Steyning. Mind you there must be others worth considering.

Surprised jordan has not been mentioned? Think it would be great for her profile. Love that girl.

How about Tim Hutchings, organiser of the Brighton Marathon, lives in Burgess Hill. The Brighton Marathon has brought a lot of money to the City and a Marathon is obviously a Olympic sport, plus Tim came 4th in the LA Olympics back in the day. Please not that dozy Sally Gunnell !
