. He will be on the first plane out!!Much to my surprise in a very drunken state I had a chat with him on the train back to Portslade last night. Seemed like a nice lad.
EDIT - I spent a large part of my time telling him about losing 7-1 to Huddersfield I am told.
I didn't think footballers behaved like that these days?Much to my surprise in a very drunken state I had a chat with him on the train back to Portslade last night. Seemed like a nice lad.

How's he been doing for us?Atom has been called up to the German U-19 squad for their 2024 UEFA European U-19 Championship Elite Round qualifiers in Croatia starting next Wednesday.
He's had a few wobbly moments in some of the games that have been streamed, but that isn't surprising as I believe he hadn't played since December 2022 because Leipzig dropped him after they knew he wasn't signing a new deal. However, he's looked more assured recently and had a moment against Sunderland ten days ago when he turned into prime Mark Lawrenson, went marauding up the pitch and set up a goal for Caylan Vickers (although it looked like he clearly fouled one of their defenders in the process!).How's he been doing for us?
So, our first team defenders are better than our youth team defenders? Is that what your insight is here?Van Hecke and Dunk are miles ahead in ability at the time of writing.
Having seen him a similar amount I’d have to agree, there’s potential there, but a lot to work on. McConnville is the one I always think looks a class above.I’d be less kind based on what I’ve seen (20 odd games). I certainly don’t mean to undermine our resident expert above; this is just my opinion solely based on the games I’ve seen.
I think he looks rather clumsy. He’s certainly a unit, he competes physically for everything. He looks very quick in sprint but has been found wanting on the turn going backwards. That said - and as mentioned above - he is willing to break the lines and carry the ball forwards.
Distribution looks decent enough, but once again, frankly in my opinion based on the 20-odd games I’ve seen him play, he is more of a unit than a play making defender.

Samuels looked decent at left back, hopefully he'll get a bit of playing time Fleetwood (although they seem to be exclusively playing 3 at the back, which means he never plays)Having seen him a similar amount I’d have to agree, there’s potential there, but a lot to work on. Well, we have a number of very young players in our first team squad who are levels ahead of Atom at the moment, so if the question was “how close is he to breaking into the first team?”, the answer would be nowhere near. Hope that clears things upSo, our first team defenders are better than our youth team defenders? Is that what your insight is here?

That's classic NSC. You love to see it.I love how he has been described here as "very quick in a sprint" and also "incredibly slow". Come on folks, which is it?
I think there are two things here. Acceleration and top end speed. A good example is Igor. His acceleration looks very poor but once he is up to top speed, he can keep up with most players.I love how he has been described here as "very quick in a sprint" and also "incredibly slow". Come on folks, which is it?
Very quick in a sprint incredibly slow in anything above 10k?I love how he has been described here as "very quick in a sprint" and also "incredibly slow". Come on folks, which is it?
