The recruitment team that brought in Skalak and Knockaert in January, Murray this summer, and two full international defenders in the last week?

Troll.

Whilst the previous poster maybe going too far by the same token it is the recruitment team which has left us with 3 strikers one of which seems to find the actual scoring part problematical and therefore praying murray stays fit. How hard they tried is irrelevant, those are the facts. I for one am disappointed although sacking them is a little too much

Is Morrison all about a lack of work rate and effort?

In his book, Ferguson compares his talent to Giggs & Ronaldo but refers to 'problems off the pitch' and 'getting into trouble'.

I think it was mostly court cases, arrests, gangs & bad publicity but if you have knowledge that he was lazy and didn't train, that could also be true.

I have no idea what the situation is with Morrison but to me ''not putting in the effort'' is just as much about what you refrain from away from the pitch as it does in what you do on the training ground.

James Wilson is the yardstick here. Having swapped Murray for Bobby we've still only got 3 strikers so in the same position as the January window when we decided to bring in Wilson. I'm pretty certain the club could have struck a deal for Wilson for this season if we'd have wanted it enough. Now he's at Derby.

Whilst I think the club were right not to try and sign him he is certainly better than nothing.
Frankly, we don't want a player because he is "better than nothing".

So, is there any decent Strikers that are currently free agents? I see HRK has been taken, any others that we might be interested in over the coming weeks?

Morrison wants to be a gangsta more than he wants to be a footballer. Sadly there are plenty of 'friends' of his (roughly one for each pound he earns) who tell him he can be both.

It seems to me that people getting uptight about Albion's lack of deadline day business are missing the fundamental point that getting players in long before deadline day (as they have) is the sign of a well-run club. Sure, we've obviously hit a wall on one position - the striker - but no point signing any old crap just to keep people happy. I suspect our targets are very decent and therefore reliant on hard bargaining and/or other players moving around first...

Getting in players long before deadline day is the sign of a rich club.

The Albion's recruitment team is clearly better than it was, with deals for Sidwell and Murray made relatively early in the window and the need for defensive cover spotted whilst the season is still young.

The fact remains that until such time as we tap into the Premier League millions we will have to stand patiently in line whilst those clubs rich with parachute payments have first dibs on anyone between the ages of 21-35 who has kicked a ball for a Prem club or scored more than 15 goals in the Championship.

Or non existent.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
I do find it strange if we don't add another forward, we were short last season with Hemed Baldock Zamora and Wilson on loan as 2 of them always seemed injured or unwell... So to go with effectively 3 makes even less sense... Asking for trouble when in every other position we seemed so determined to get 2 options for each position.

The one position you really don't want to be short is your goal scorers ...

Come on Albion get a good one over the line... :)
