On NSC for over two decades...
This made me laugh, apparently Churches are going to be forced to put up "No Smoking" signs at their entrances. Now, though I haven't been a church goer for some years I can never EVER recall anyone having the audacity to smoke in Church.

There were a couple of choir girls at my school that we s(ch)mokin'.

If they are not allowed to be excused from having signs, perhaps they can incorporate a picture of Jesus Christ stubbing out a cigarette with a rather cross looking cherub telling him not to smoke.

We've had no smoking signs in our church for years.
It helps to point out the signs to the homeless who are fed every Monday night, so that they have to go outside to light up before coming back in to finish their free hot meal.

If they're homeless and starving, what the hell are they smoking for? Talk about wasting money!

I don't know. I've never asked them.

Go on, ask them. I'd LOVE to know the thinking behind it. I mean if you or I were homeless, cigarettes are the last thing you would use your money for SURELY?!

You obviously don't know the addictive nature of nicotine.

people make funny choices all the time. about everything. don't even have to have an addiction to make them, some people have screwed up priorities.

cigarettes over food.

holidays over car seats.

drugs over a home.

latest tv/dvd player over shoes for your kids.

never seen anyone smoke in our church either, we still have candles in ours.

our homeless are fed and watered in the hall. never noticed if there are there any signs there though, i'd guess so.

In a laboratory, they put a rat in a specially made cage.
They placed a window with food, and another one with cigs.
The rat chose Woodbines, and starved to DEATH!

not really, but it's a good story, n'est pas?

They weren't Woodbines, it was actually Drum, and the rat rolled his own, to DEATH!

this is exactly the sort of government enforced bueracracy that is sending the country to the dogs.

its not about signs in places like churches, why do we need a f***ing sign at all, anywhere? do we have signs telling us murder or theft is not permissable? does your company have a sign on the door saying fraud is not permitted on the premises? is there a sign in you car to tell you to put you seat belt on/remind you not to drink/dont use your phone? are there signs at the local park telling people not to indecently expose themselves?

of course bloody not. what make this new rule so special?
