From Heathfield I'd drive to Lewes and one stop on the train.

The club has to cover the cost of travel, with low attendances expected for all 3 games they would more than likely make a loss.

I just think its a bit short sighted. Good will is quite a valuable commodity and this sort of thing chips away at it. It also puts even more hurdles in the way of new customers and future supporters as well regular punters. If I was Barber I'd be doing all I can to get people in the ground; not resign myself to a low attendance and shut everything down.

I've just looked at the bus website and there is no mention of the R bus from Rottingdean running at all next season, which is a bit of a concern.

It doesnt say that I on my ST that my seat for this match has been added to.

It's being loaded onto mine as well and there is nothing on that either.

Not going to buy a train ticket until the club officially announce I need to. I reckon there will be grief all round at the ticket barriers on the night, unless they actually let people know in advance.

In fairness to the club it IS only a tenner and perhaps expecting that to include the travel is a bit much. Shame we've got to pay an additional 50% for the bus tickets but there you go, it's the bus fares that are too expensive rather than the club being underhand/stingy that means the actual price to attend is higher than perhaps some were expecting. (And I haven't even MENTIONED the 20% booking fee for the tickets as there are already enough threads on that)

So why did the club set the price a £10 in the first place I would have thought that had they said £15 and included travel there wouldnt have been any complaints

My purchase hasn't been loaded on to my account for this game. I assumed i was getting a paper ticket anyway as all seats were up for grabs.

I think they should have officially communicated that travel wasn't included in the ticket price. As it is, we currently only have a rumour on a messageboard.

Bit embarrassing as well that someone has already told Newport fans that they have free rail travel from Haywards Heath.

Right here, right now

I e-mailed the club and they confirmed that at the moment there are no plans for there to be P&R available.

And this from Brighton & Hove Buses website:

Brighton & Hove Albion are NOT running any Park & Ride buses or special services for the first three friendly/cup games on the dates below.

Saturday 27 July, Tuesday 30 July and Tuesday 6 August.

Tickets for these matches DO NOT GIVE FREE TRAVEL. It is clearly stated on the match ticket so there will be no doubt as to there validity.

So an email from the club and a message on the bus company's website is considered a rumour then?

Not arguing with either of those points. However the 'booking fee' row should have given people a heads up that the price quoted isn't necessarily the total price you'll end up paying to attend.
