Same here. MASSIVE anti-climax when it was just Abbott dropping the N and P bomb. Just imagine if the BBC introduced the show each week by saying "and a warning that some viewers may find some scenes upsetting". They'd have a captive audience for the whole hour (at least the first couple of times).

Someone needed to have a word with that McGuinness bint to explain that it was Question Time, not 'An Audience with Mairead McGuinness'. Shit the bed, she barely came up for air all night.

No, I don't think it was that. It was a fairly extreme (and daft) viewpoint, but thats nothing new on QT. The warning was absolutely about the n*****rs and p**is remark by Abbott.

I'd agree that (for her) she was better this week then usual, probably as there were no numbers/statistics for her to get tangled up in. But she still has that highly irritating manner of speaking to everyone as though she is conversing with an upset 6 year old. And appearing to read everything she is saying from an autocue on the ceiling.

I happened to have shared a sauna (mixed) with an older gentleman that had been an audience member on QT.

He said they have a full rehearsal without the panel, to give their questions and so on, they then choose due to a) the question and b) if the audience member might be able to actually say it.

Correct. My step-mum was chosen to ask a question on there about 3 years ago.

I'd been looking forward to it because David Aaronovitch and Jordan Peterson are interesting, but having the knife-crime question first killed the programme. Dimbleby gave far too much talk time to the audience (before one panellist had said anything), and there was no tension between panellists because essentially everyone agrees that knife crime is a bad thing. This one question took over half the programme, leaving insufficient time for other issues where there was potential for debate. Mairead McGuinness was long-winded and repeated herself, and I'm with Jack on Diane Abbott.

The whole knife issue comes down to the breakdown of society and reduction of police numbers. If people knew there was a high chance of being caught in possession and a long sentence they would not risk it.

It wasn't - they wouldn't have put a warning on about that. His language wasn't offensive only his viewpoint.

It was Abbott's remarks. The context was fine, it's post watershed but they'd drop in a warning for that.

Hmmm ..... intrigued by this claim. Where is the evidence ? I ask as it wasn't obvious when I went to see the show and it hasn't been obvious on any of the shows I've watched.

There have been activists as clapham gull said, but the most obvious one was the Scottish nurse who talked about having to use food banks when she spent her birthday in New York quaffing champagne, and other luxury holidays.

They do have a rehearsal but it's about 30 minutes and for sound and camera checks. People from the audience sit on the panel and staff ask them random non-political questions.
