No new striker for Albion From The Argus)

Albion will not have a new striker in their ranks against Swindon at Withdean on Saturday.

The Seagulls were thwarted in their bid to land a big money loan-to-buy target before today's 5pm deadline for temporary transfers.

See tomorrow's Argus for the full story

Nothing new.

Don't think it would have been for the want of trying but never mind Barnes won't be out for long, Wood only misses one game and Sandaza is basically begging for a start.

To be honest,I would've been happy with someone just to help chip in the goals, we can have this 'big money' player next season but for now we need someone up top with Murray,

Meopham, Kent.
We don't need to rush, as we have the goals in the side (and squad) currently to see us alright. No need for a panic move, we can take our time, not pay over teh odds and get the right man. I love the fact that we are targetting a "loan-to-buy" rather than the revolving door of a short-term loan. This suggests to me, that the man we are trying to bring in is someone we believe is of Championship quality. We are looking at a striker to improve our side for next season already.

Love it. Absolutely no worries about them not being here for Saturday.

Don't like to sound cynical here, given how swimmingly everything is going, BUT haven't we had pretty well the same "missed out on getting someone amazing" story on every transfer/loan window last day since Gus arrived?

I'm not bothered as I think we have the squad to finish the job anyway.

Maybe it's the same player? I'm sure he'll tell you that it's complicated.

Hmmm, Wood is only technically away for one game, but that also involves flying half way around the world twice, doesn't it?

Not exactly conducive to an energetic performance at Dagenham, I'd have thought.

Tony: get the boy a first class ticket and make sure he is well looked after.

Maybe he will actually give Nooney the start he so richly deserves!
