Looking at the table at the moment we would be chasing the last playoff place. Maybe TB thinks it is slipping away this year and keeping powder dry for next season. However, we have got to where we are without Bridcutt and we have injured players coming back so all is not lost and we will have a clearer idea of where we will be after 3 home games in feb. I still think we have got a good chance of the playoffs. Oscar is a good coach and we still have a decent squad. I think we will get a centre back on loan at some stage. Lets hope Buckley surprises everyone, gets fit, and plays a big part in the second half of the season. He owes us that.

Still comforting to see the bedwetting continues even after a couple b of signings. David looks a sound if not better replacement, Barnes and Dale solid Crofts cover, and March the opportunity to get some time instead of Conway. Struggling to see who else from 5 weeks ago that was actually playing we are going to miss. Clean the sheets.

Are you serious? how much did Palace spend last season? How much as Burnley spent this season? Money doesn't get you results all the time, Forest haven't set the stage alight despite the fact they spent a large amount.

Leicester have spent loads the last few seasons too, Blackburn spent loads last season. Money doesnt buy you anything these days.

Abort, retry, fail
you have to spend money if you want to get out of this league

Your statement is correct in that one has to spend money - players don't play for free.

However, spending large sums of money doesn't guarantee success and there are clubs promoted who do not spend crazy amounts!

Leicester racked up £52.5m worth of losses in the 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12 seasons and in their March accounts last year, they reported a loss of £29.2m.

They finally look like they are going to get promoted, but not before they were saved by their Thai owners.

How are we stronger than we were 5 weeks ago??? We've lost Barnes, El Abd, Conway, Bridcutt, Lita, Crofts(out for season) and we have bought in Obika(unproven), Rodney(unproven) and Stephens ( be surprised if he is better than Crofts).

Well, if you are counting Crofts as a 'down', then you have to say we are 'up' CMS and Orlandi, too.

No replacement for Bridcutt? Rohan Ince is doing a very nice job, in my opinion. No replacement for El Abd? Lewis Dunk is fine by me.

I'm not concerned about replacing Bridcutt in the least, I think Ince has been doing that all season. I would be more worried about replacing El Abd and getting another attacking winger/striker.

No wet bed here but neither are we having the wet dreams we had been getting use to over the last 4 years.

Surprised after all the talk of a winger nothing has materialised. That is unless Spanish Rodders can play the wing role so a top three of Rodders Ulloa LuaLua (obviously with Buckley to come back when fit as well) and will release Spanish Dave or Orlandi to play behind Ulloa in the No 10 role

Don't really care. We have a top 8 squad. We have a small chance of play offs. If we didnt have the ridic injury list we would probably have five or so more points.

Potential fa cup quarterfinal....

Just a few points, can't be arsed to go into any detail:
- No-one in their right mind would expect a team to win the league in their manager's first season.
- We've been INCREDIBLY unlucky with injuries this season.
- It'll take a long time to get over the financial constraints of playing at the Withdean (this is very much underestimated).
- I genuinely can't see how anyone can criticise the bloke who's spent £200m of his own money on the club for not spending more.
- The academy isnt even built yet, we have 3rd division training facilities and yet we're still attracting some fantastic players.
- I bloody love going to the Amex, watching entertaining football and supporting my team.

I guess what I'm trying to say is try to enjoy the ride. We don't have any real control in what's happening so we might as well enjoy it.
