That would mean having Man Utd in the final and that is something we can all do without.

Why can we do without the most entertaining English team left in the competition making the final, beating the two dullards that appeared tonight?

Oh well, at least Anfield still has makeshift terraces.
Its an inspiration to us all.

You can call them entertaining if you want I'll stick to embarrassing to the country and anger inducing.

As a Brighton fan I hate them with a passion.

Embarrassing to the country?

We saw Liverpool/Chelsea at this stage last year, and in 2005, and we've seen it twice already in the Prem this season. Not really anything special for me, I'm afraid.

At least tomorrow's match will have some 'novelty value' in so much as they don't play each other very often (in fact, can't remember the last time they did...I know Barca beat Man U 4-0 back in 1995 or so, but not sure of anything more recent than that).

They played each other in the group stage the year Man Utd won the Champions League. The 3-3 draw at the Nou Camp was one of the best games I've ever seen.

What's the difference between United and, let's say, Liverpool then?

Loads of things but the ones that matter the most are that Liverpool never beat us in the FA Cup final and none of the younger generation of my family have chosen to support Liverpool instead of following the family in supporting The Albion.

Oh and that fcuking cheating diving wanking twat face of an excuse for a human being Ronaldo doesn't play for Liverpool either.

But neither of those things are really United's fault are they? Firstly, did you expect them to lose against us in the Cup Final in 1983? Of course not. Notts County beat us in 1991 - do you hate them as much? Secondly, your family who support United will, at least, be treated to following a team that plays football in the right way, showcases the talents of some of the best players on earth, wins trophies at the highest level, and plays every home match in front of 76,000. Meanwhile, we're all sitting at Withdean. I'm all for supporting your local club, it's why I've done just that for 13 of my 21 years, but I don't think you can hate another club just because others choose to go their way. If anything, it's the family members who should be exposed to your views.

Hmm, yeah I do hate Notts County but the 1983 Final hurt much much more as I was younger.

I cant go with your argument for the family though. Dunno if you've been in the same position but when new members of your family are born, as a Brighton fan your dream is to have them follow you and to be able to take them to games (think early part of the film Fever Pitch) when this is all brought down by a team who you already dislike for beating you in a cup final in your first season of supporting your team it becomes unforgettable & unforgivable.

Fair enough. Each to their own. Tho reckon most home-grown football fans would keep at least one eye on a European Cup semi-final featuring two English teams. Bit of an OCCASION innit?

Whilst they may be geographically located in England, neither club is owned or managed by an Englishman, a bit like Man U and Barca

Quote on a Liverpool messageboard tonight:

"Riise is so one footed that he could probably legally park in a handicapped space."

:lolol:
Lovely stuff.

But that's the thing, they couldn't give a f*** about Brighton. Why get worked up about a club on a different planet to us? Just appreciate their brilliance.

Because their selfishness, greed and obsession with money has destroyed the level playing field. Manchester used to have TWO very good football teams, as did Liverpool, Birmingham had one, Leeds had one, even the East Midlands had a couple, and that will never happen again.

......and I live in Manchester and all my mates support Citeh, so I used to watch them regularly at Maine Road, and grew quite attached to them, so I LOATHE the rags.
