Right. Lets get ONE THING clear from the outset.

Why the f*** would you want to wear a hat INDOORS? I can see why with kids but ADULTS? Why? Unless you are some gangsta rapper or fuckwit obviously.

Always wear my favourite baseball cap when playing poker down the casino. I am not a fuckwit or gangster rapper any more than you are and ignorant twat. With your stereotypical views.

Before being admitted to Dick's Bar, people are still being asked by stewards to remove their hats once upstairs. On asking the reason I was informed, "It's for CCTV. If there's an incident, we can more easily identify people."

Dick's is meant to be the fans' bar, friendly and welcoming, open to all. That hats rule seems petty and somewhat bizarre. And inconsistent. The East Stand Brasserie - which now functions as a (far bigger) bar post-match - imposes no such restriction.

Have there been any recent incidents of menacing, hat-wearing felons storming in and making off with the tills, the pies... or the staff? What on earth is going on?

Someones prob already mentioned this, but, it is most likely a condition placed on the license by the local authority. Many licensed premises have similar restrictions, including my own.

Like i said, sorry if mentioned already, but i aint trawling 4 pages!

I shall be attending Dicks pre match , wearing my Trilby at a jaunty angle

I did this at the Doncaster home game. The stewards at the entrance to the steps up asked me to take it off. I did, then when they were out of sight, put it back on again. I'm SUCH a rebel.

Why all this fuss? You were never allowed to wear a hat in the Sportsman either.

Well I can remember a couple of sunny days when I was going to be in the S Stand at Withdean and took me straw trilby hat along to save my balding head. Wore it beforehand in the Sportsman and wasn't challenged. May be its because I'm an old git and one look at me would be enough to realise I'm not going to cause any bother!

We're in a different century to those working class fellas in the pub.

Exactly, and we seem to be going backwards rather than forwards in some people's bigotted views. I only occasionaly wear a hat indoors but stil I have my own rules of decorum. I never wear a hat indoors when eating or sitting in front of someone where it might annoy them by restricting their view of something, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with people wearing a hat in somewhere like a pub or sports bar, or at a gig, if they want to. To label them as somehow inferior human beings is beyond ridiculous, even for the reactionary types round here.
