It's pretty weird thinking about it. Seems like a job for life. You can consistently and persistently be bad at the job and not get sacked.

Sounds great to me.
And the view as to how bad you are is based on subjective bias most of the time, which can be very aggressive when not heeded. Add to that how the job has limited definitions for real-time situations and is down to interpretation, I'd say it's a rather difficult role.

I don't disagree necessarily. It is a hard job. And they make it tougher on themselves by being shit at their job.

Sorry but too many of the errors are down to being incompetent rather than interpretation.

I missed it at the time, but as soon as I saw it was Pascal down you knew something had happened
In the NS I could see he'd been wiped out and looked like at least a foul, couldn't believe nothing given. Obviously couldn't see the elbow assault, seeing it now I am angry the morons on VAR didn't do anything about it.

He was remonstrating with the ref for some time after it too. Sure sign he was genuinely aggrieved at the lack of a decision.

Dermot and Warnock called it as a yellow on Ref Watch. Sue Smith said red. Fair to say I agree with Smith. Still can't quite believe the imbecile in the middle didn't even give a foul.

Dermot would see a decapitation and call it a yellow if his mate the ref of the game said so. So the fact he has gone harsher than the ref in the match is actually a major criticism :)

No way is that a yellow. Mitrovic got a 3 match ban retrospectively after a very similar assault on Ben White in the championship.

Bizarre decision.

It really does rub salt in the wounds that not only did he score the winner but he was the best player on the pitch yesterday too.
He scored the winner as well as the equaliser? I'm glad I'd left by then.

Good shout! Edited!

It did feel like a winner though TBH.
He probably felt a winner too knowing he got away with an assault, it almost certainly buoyed him, and his performance improved after that incident under the knowledge that the ref was incompetent.
