Where are we, 1981 or something?!
That was ironically the year I won the St Luke's Junior School first division title.

If the league ends after June 1st. the cut off date agreed by all parties before a ball was kicked, I don't see where there would be a breach of contract. I'll bet the TV companies have no intention of paying after that cut off date anyway, not if they can help it!
Start the next season with teams on the same amount of points as they have now, cumulative points total.

Hopefully get my money back for Norwich trip, how many bog rolls can I get for £30?
Voiding the league because it couldn't be completed by 1st. June (if that is what happens) would be 'force majeure' - same as a war, earthquakes, flood, whatever.I guess I worded it poorly but presumably breach of contract exists if:
1. The full quota of games aren’t completed at all - void the league
2. They change the final number of games with some kind of play off system (could see a pro rated rebate/reduction in end of season pay outs)
3. The following season has to be reduced in number of games
All of which still look like they could be on the cards to me.

Well, my bet would be on that lawsuit failing drastically - albeit expensively to both sides. Ultimately, force majeure trumps practically anything, especially if the government reinforces it with appropriate legislation. For which they wouldn’t be covered on insurance, or unlikely to.
And here’s the confirmation/proof of the motivation:
