If the league ends after June 1st. the cut off date agreed by all parties before a ball was kicked, I don't see where there would be a breach of contract. I'll bet the TV companies have no intention of paying after that cut off date anyway, not if they can help it!

I guess I worded it poorly but presumably breach of contract exists if:

1. The full quota of games aren’t completed at all - void the league
2. They change the final number of games with some kind of play off system (could see a pro rated rebate/reduction in end of season pay outs)
3. The following season has to be reduced in number of games

All of which still look like they could be on the cards to me.

Start the next season with teams on the same amount of points as they have now, cumulative points total.

The FA have waived the 1st June rule - so can be completed in autumn - can't see it being safe to do so any time before then

Well, my bet would be on that lawsuit failing drastically - albeit expensively to both sides. Ultimately, force majeure trumps practically anything, especially if the government reinforces it with appropriate legislation.
