You can - occasionally - dominate a game and not win it. Given that we butchered almost every chance that came our way tonight, I don't think replayed "well".

You can keep having these polls but it's a bit daft really. There are only a few stats that matter - goals and points.

It’s exactly my opinion buddy / and I think a lot of us. Point is we played well. But yes - finishing has let us down all season. I just don’t get the ‘we didn’t win so we’re shit brigade.

And if you don’t agree with my argument that’s fine guys - articulate it to me.. I don’t agree with every opinion of Mellotron Simster Bozza etc etc etc who I think are decent blokes - we can debate it fine - it’s cool - no need for mocking cos I happen to think we played well... debate it - it’s fine...!

You absolute c**t

anyone who can blame him for our lack of goals astounds me

Why? I mean he has been in charge for over a season and a half and this has been a recurring theme of his time. I get he can't be on the pitch to put it in, but he is the head coach, why hasn't he managed to coach any improvement? If he can't coach the players*, why not try to bring through other players he can coach? Why not bring in a striker coach who can? Why not look at changes he can make in tactics etc - how often do we see the ball out wide with no one or just Maupay in the box? Tactics, approach, coaching. At some point he has to take responsibility for what happens on the pitch with worrying frequency.

Edit: * specifically the strikers, he seems to be doing all right coaching the other areas

Dominated, deserved to win again. Both teams defended well. Frustrating but this league is tough.

We’ve only lost to Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Leicester, Southampton, United, Spurs and Everton. Soundly beaten twice all season. Plenty of reasons to remain positive. I’m going to flounce off and let the doom mongers do their worst.

To be fair, the performance was ok and often is but the results have been dire, especially at home. You can blame the players for the odd game or two where we have all the possession and don’t turn it into goals but not a whole year of misfiring. Potter is paid big bucks (I presume) to get the team playing decent football, scoring and winning and he seems incapable of doing 2 out of 3 of those. I thought when he came he was labelled this coaching mastermind but it seems he is not!
Tonight went exactly the way it has gone for most of the season and therefore the performance in the end meant nothing (again!).

Purposely didn`t read thread because i don`t want to be influenced , in a nutshell we have either the worst or unluckiest strikers in the universe !

Good performance. Piss poor finishing. Lucky we didn’t concede in the last minute.

Tonight's performance is a microcosm of our season. Premier League champions in xG, yet somehow relegated.

Considering the idea of this competition is to accrue points I don't think that makes it a good performance.

Where's the option for ****ing Useless?

Never forget, the idea is to put the ball in the onion bag. It's that simple.

Some believe its that simple, others dont.

To you the scoreboard is all that matters but some in here likes to see a bit of nice passing combinations, overlapping centre backs and goal scoring opportunities being created and whatnot. Results are a big part of the game but not everything to everyone.

Couldn’t understand why Propper came on a useless substitute

I think Potter was happy with the point by them and wanted to get control of the midfield. A loss would have been a disaster. We’ve got four winnable games in February, best to fight another day.

How anyone can say we played badly is beyond me. Sure you can say the individuals finished badly but as a team it was an excellent performance. The defence was solid, the play making was excellent, we just don't have a quality pair of goal scorers. Trossard is excellent at creating chances he just shouldn't have the responsibility for capitalising on them and as for Maupay the less said the better. That we need Welbeck back on the pitch is a no brainer
