Toko didn't even see the bench, apart from 1 league cup game. Elvis has been in the squad for every game since Wolves, so Hughton must see something in him. Nothing to lose by giving him 20 mins today though, so a bit of an odd one for a player that's played at a decent level. He is starting to look rather like this year's Toko. Time to start seeing the likes of Harper and Tilley on the bench, perhaps?
Seems just as unlikely to get anywhere near the pitch on matchday, though.Toko didn't even see the bench, apart from 1 league cup game. Totally agree, 3.0 down let's bring on a 34 striker who we need for tight games, and an injury prone defensive midfielder! At least give him some game time to see what he's got. If we paid over £1 million for him he can't be that bad!
To be fair, CH has to praise him, as we would all expect our boss to praise us in public. And of course he has to do his best to keep Elvis on side. But given the injuries, where he could have filled in, you obviously have to think that the reality is that CH does not think he is good enough -what other conclusion can you come to? I accept that you could say that he has not been given a chance to show what he can do, but, again, one must ask oneself why not.Sad state of affairs. He has been mentioned by CH in fairly glowing terms stating that he is doing well in training but if that's the case why aren't we seeing him play which we did at the start of the season by the way?
